With the sun almost up we took off on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we took a double mahi only to have them both come off at the boat, bummer. Then we baited and had a few bites but they all came off too. Then we jigged and caught some aku and shibi and ran an aku live. We baited again and had a bite but no hook ups. On our way in we found some birds but saw no fish. These guys did good on this rough day, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We started out on time but had a minor problem with our port engine, that Scot fixed on this day of 25 kph trades, the first time we have had strong trades in months, going to my next favorite buoy. Our first pass on the buoy we had a double mahi and landed one of them. When Scot baited he was hooking mahi 1 to 3 a pass, it was fun mahi action on light line, and these folks did great reeling these fish in. When we jigged the aku and shibi were biteing and we ran an aku and a shibi live. Then we saw a marlin that paid no attention to our live baits. On our way in we found an open school of mahi and could not get them to bite. Good going you guys did great on this rough day. Aloha Capt Rusty

With trades blowing at 10-20 off we go headed to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran a shibi live. When we baited nothing happened so we set up and trolled. We went by another buoy but it was not happening. It was nice to have some tradewinds blowing today. These guys did great with what we had going on today, good going men. Back in the harbor only Holo was bold enough to eat an aku eyeball, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

In the dark with 15 kph winds going to a west side buoy off we go. When we got to the buoy we jigged and could not get a bite, so we baited and Scot hooked a nice big mahi after a lot of passes thru the zone and Chris cranked her in and aboard she came. We baited more but got no hits so we set up and trolled. Along the way we found a few birds and caught a couple of small kawakawa. In the harbor only
Chris was bold enough to eat his mahi eyeball, that's the way to do it, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Right on time off we go headed to a west side bouy on this day of glassy water. On our way down the ledge we took 3 ono hits and landed 2 and lost a lure to one. Then we had a kawakawa slam the center and come aboard. At the buoy we baited and got nothing so we jigged. It took a while but we took a double shibi and got them both. On out way back  we had a marlin come in and hit the center and the rigger before Scot dropped a lure back and it hooked up. It put on a great show jumping all over out there, and then came in nice and quiet the way we like it. Then a nice mahi grabbed the same lure and we had a clean sweep, one of everything there is to catch out here. These guys did great on all these fish, they were fun to have aboard, hope to see you guys next time you are here. Aloha Capt Rusty

At another buoy we baited and had an ono bite us off. then went out to a log floating by. We took a hit trolling and Scot baited up 2 more mahi on the first pass. Then it was some great action on light tackel as we baited up a bunch more these guys did great with all these fish. When it slowed down we set up and got an ono and a mahi trolling. Back in the harbor Jason, Tony and Shawn all ate mahi eyeballs gladly, good going. These folks were fun to have aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty

The first fish we hooked was a 24 pound shibi hooked in the belly it gave eric a real battle, lucky to land it. Then we started hooking nice size aku and these folks did great reeling them in one after another. we ran a shibi live but got hits. We baited again but those fish are well trained and did not bite anything we threw at them. Back in the harbor only Chris and Jamie were bold enough to eat shibi eyeballs gladly, I like it, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the buoy we baited and it took a while before a nice mahi ate a bait and Rod landed it. The shibi were not into bait so we jigged and Rod hooked a shibi and we got it, a good fight on 40 it was. One more 9 pound aku was all we could get to go.  These folks did great today, they love to fish and it showed, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty
