Blasting off at 6 on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Along the way we find an open school of mahi and Scot baits one up and we get it. At the buoy we jigged and caught an aku and ran it live. When Scot baited he was hooking big shibi one or 2 a pass. Then we had an ahi eat 2 baits and we got it up quick with 2 guys reeling it in. Next pass and one more ahi bites and Dino pulls in another 100 pounder, much better than the day before. We get a few more big shibi before we set up and troll to another buoy. There we bait up one 57 pound shibi and lost something bigger. Back in the harbor Dino eats the heart out of his ahi, one bite wasn't enough he took 2 big bites and liked it, ok. We didn't win anything but it was lots fun as always. good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Day one and off we go at 6 with 30 other boats on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Along the way we caught 2 onos in the blind. At the buoy we baited and caught a few big shibi. Then Dino hooked one that was ahi size but after a long fight it came off, bummer. A few small mahi showed up and we got 3 of them in the boat. Then we set up and trolled to another buoy, but got nothing there. End of day one. One more day. Aloha Capt Rusty

In the first glow of a clear morning going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we caught a few aku and shibi and a small mahi on our first few passes, then we baited and got a few big ones on and landed a few and lost a few too. We jigged and put out an aku live. Scot baited again and got a few more shibi on and  we landed 2 more. These guys did good today. Back in the harbor all of these guys were brave enough to eat shibi eyeballs gladly, good going men.

Calm and clear as we got underway on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. There we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. Next pass a shark exploded on our aku and hooked up and we pulled it up took his picture and let it go. Then we baited and Scot was hooking big shibi one or two and pass, except the first 4 were spent paying taxes to the tax man, then we were getting whole fish again. These guys did great cranking in all these fish today, great on light line. These guys love to fish and it was evident again today. Then a couple mahi came in and Scot hooked 2 and we landed them both. Good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Clear and calm this morning of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and ran an aku live. When we baited Scot had a few hits but they came off so we jigged some more. A big barracuda chopped our aku in half and some how missed the trailer hook. The next live aku got chopped but when it came back by it got snagged in the side of the head and Ed got a real battle getting it to the boat a big 37 pounder, a new boat year to date record. We missed a few hits trolling so Scot baited and hooked 2 in one pass and we landed 2 big shibi. These folks were solid today and did great on these fish, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty
