Darren Cole, Tim Silano, Colin Cole, Jeff Cole, Brad Cole, and Eric Taylor caught 1 shark and 6 shibi and some aku
|
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We had an ono hit on the ledge but it did not stay on. At the buoy we put out 2 live baits and a shark came up and ate one real fast, but it cut the leader after a long fight. A second shark came in and ate a bait on a wire and we got that one, we tagged it and let it go. When we put out the secret weapons the big shibi were going off on them. Scot baited up a few too. These guys did great on these fish today, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Dino Miranda, Steve Manser, Paul Lindberg, Wade Sooy, Capt Rusty caught 4 shibi and one 420 pound marlin
|
We got going at 4:40 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we put out 2 live baits and had one bait come off may be it was a barracuda bite. We baited and got a few nice shibi. We had 2 nice live aku out when we went to bait one more time and a big marlin ate one of our baits and hooked up. It did not jump at first becuse it was hooked so deep, Steve was the angler and he did great, in the 45 minute fight. When it came up it was dead, just the way we like it. In the harbor Steve was game to eat an eyeball out of the marlin, and Wade ate one out of a shibi. Great job men, well done. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 4:30 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We put out 2 live baits at the buoy one got chopped in half by an ono, no sharks today. An open school of mahi came by the buoy, but we could not get then to bite. When we baited 2 mahi came around and Scot hooked one up and we got it. Next pass Paul hooked a mahi too, and we got it. When we set up and trolled we hooked and got an ono right at the buoy. Just outside the harbor we took a double ono and got one. This was a holoholo day in place of the hanapaa. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 4:45 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On the ledge we took a double and got a big barracuda and an ono. We had 2 more hits that did not stick. At the buoy we caught some aku and ran 2 live. When we baited a shark came along and ate one and hooked up, we got it to the boat before it rolled and broke the main line. We baited again and got 2 nice shibi on light line. No hits on the way in. In the harbor it took Tate to start off the eyeball eating, then all the guys joined in, I like it. These folks did great on all these fish, on this rough day, good going . Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 4:30 on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We jigged and caught some aku and ran 2 live, and to my surprise no sharks came to eat them for a change. No biger ones were coming up so we took 2 live aku and slow trolled them away from the buoy. Then we found a big rope floating and Scot baited up 3 mahi 2 big bullys and one wahine. Then we trolled and got one small ono. These folks did great on this rough day with all these fish. In the harbor Jason was game to eat an eyeball out of a shibi. Good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Mike and Amy Scheetz caught 4 sharks and 4 aku today
|
We got going at 4:30 on this day of 30 kph trades going to a cold old buoy. When we jigged the sharks were so agressive that they got the first 4 aku we hooked up. So we put out bait on a wire and hooked a shark for Mike, he made quick work of it, and we tagged it and let it go. There were so many sharks that it was the best thing to do so we got one more on for Mike, and tagged it too. Two more sharks later we set up and trolled looking for a more desireable species. We covered lots of good area but got no hits. These folks did well on this rough day. Aloha Capt Rusty

Stuart Spangler, Dean Deselle, Greg Potwin, and Mike Donofrio caught 1 marlin and 1 shibi and some aku
|
We got going at 4:30 on this day of 25 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. When we jigged we got some aku and ran 2 live. A shark came by and ate half of one real fast, next live one hooked up a shark, and we tagged it and let it go. We had 2 more sharks on light line but they broke off. While we reeled in an aku a marlin followed it all the way to the boat, so we put it out live and it ate it gladly. Greg got to reel in his first blue marlin in about 10 minutes, a nice 136# one. Good going Greg. When we baited both Scot and Greg hooked up some small shibi on light line. When we set up to troll we took a marlin hit but it came off. Back in the harbor only Greg and Mike were up for eating eyeballs out of the marlin, I like it. These guys did great on this rough day. Aloha Capt Rusty
