We left the harbor right on time in 5-15 kph trades.  We headed to a buoy in search of big yellowfin.  We ran bait and hooked a mahimahi.  We landed the mahi, then hooked something else, but lost it.  We made another pass and hooked a big yellowfin.  Stephen fought it for an hour and a half, then the hook pulled out and we lost it.  BRUTAL!  We headed back to the buoy, ran more bait, and hooked another mahimahi.  We were reeling in the mahimahi, when we spotted a marlin eyeing our fish.  We landed the mahi, threw out a line with bait for the marlin, but couldn't get him to bite.  We switched to jigging and caught one small yellowfin and two skipjack tuna.  We tried bait again and caught three more mahimahi.  There was heavy competition at the buoy today, and we had to "fight" for the 5 mahimahi that we landed.  We didn't catch a big yellowfin but our folk will be eating well tonight.  Good fishing everyone!  Aloha Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We left the harbor a little before 5 am in 10-20 kph trades.  We had a strike on the way to the buoy, but it didn't stick.  At the buoy, we had another strike that didn't stick.  We brought in the lines and switched to bait.  Then the action began.  We started hooking mahimahi, two at a time.  We kept hooking them, and landed them all.  Great job!  No bites on the way in, but everyone had plenty of reeling action today, hauling in a total of 15 mahimahi.  Awesome catch!  Aloha Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We left the harbor right on time in 10-20 kph trades.  We headed to a buoy and came in with bait.  We took a triple mahimahi strike but one jumped off hook.  We landed the other two.  We ran more bait and kept getting mahimahi bites.  We had another double hookup and several more single strikes.  We lost a nice 25 pounder right at the back of the boat.  Just before gaff, the mahi turned his head, came off hook, and got away.  We landed a total of seven mahimahi, then ran the ledge on the way in, but no other action.  Great fishing everyone!  Aloha Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We headed out right on time in 10-20 kph trades.  We headed to a buoy and ran bait.  We hooked a mahimahi, Grika jumped in the chair, and landed a 22 pounder.  We ran more bait but couldn't get any other bites, so we headed to another buoy.  We ran bait at the buoy and took a double mahimahi strike.  We landed both and baited up again.  The mahimahi action was steady and everyone got to reel one in.  Jim caught the biggest mahimahi, weighing 25 pounds.  It was rough waters today but these guys stuck it out and did great.  No bites on the way in, but a nice day's catch. It was a pleasure having you onboard, and hope to see you again.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve
