We left the harbor at 11am for an afternoon half day of fishing.  We headed out in 10-20 kph trades.  A little rough, but a beautiful day.  The girls spotted a shark, a barracuda, and a porpoise on our way to our favorite buoy.  We hooked 2 nice sized Mahi Mahi and Danny and Catherine each reeled one in.  We also lost 2 Ono.  No bites on the way home but it was another glorious day on the Kuuloakai Charter boat.  Great fishing guys!  Aloha, Scot and Capt. Steve

We left the harbor in 4-8 foot seas and 10-20 kpg trades, a very nice day.  We headed to our first buoy but no bites, so we headed to another buoy and caught 3 Mahi Mahi, one nice size one.  We headed back to our first buoy hoping to catch a big Yellowfin.  We caught 2 more Mahi Mahi and lost a couple.  No bites on the way in, but a good day overall.  Great fishing guys!  Aloha, Scot & Capt. Steve

We headed out in 10-15 kpg trades going towards the Turtle Bay then on to a buoy, but nobody home.  We headed towards another buoy, caught a Mahi Mahi and lost another.  We headed towards another buoy, saw some Mahi Mahi, but they wouldn't bite.  Fished all the way home, but no bites.  These are the guys that make my pizza (Jerry's), and I was really hoping to find them plenty fish.  At least they are eating Mahi tonight.  Hope to see you out there again.  Aloha, Scot & Capt. Steve

Day 1 of The Hanapa'a Jackpot Tournament
We left the starting line at 6am in 15-25 kph trades, with 27 other boats.  We headed to the X buoy where we caught 9 Mahi Mahi.  Unfortunately none were qualifying weight.  We headed off looking for big Yellowfin.  We didn't find any, but we caught a Skipjack tuna.  Unfortunately they don't count for this tournament either. At least the fish were tasty!
Day 2 of The Hanapa'a Jackpot Tournament
Started off in 20-25 kph trades with 28 other boats.  We Headed to the J buoy, but nobody home, so we headed out and down.  We worked a couple bird piles, but no bites.  So we started to angle in towards the island.  At 1 o'clock the center outrigger came down with a slam!  Fish on, Hanapa'a!  We hooked a thousand pound Marlin.  It immediately took 800 yards of line, so we had to put the boat in reverse so we didn't run out of line.  It was 3 hours of reeling before it took its first jump, confirming our guess that it was a whopper of a Marlin.  We knew we had to get this fish in the boat, and the sooner the better.  We were 2 1/2 hours out and needed to be at scale within 3 hours.  2 hours later, we were STILL fighting that Marlin, then the line broke and we lost it.  We set 2 lines for the way in.  Ten minutes later, we had a bite.  It was a 130 pound Yellowfin.  We landed it in record time and continued our rough journey home.  Good job everyone, and special thanks to Captain Steve, for getting us home safe.

We headed out in 15-25 kph trades and passing showers, on our way to our favorite buoy.  We found a massive bird pile and started hooking Skipjack tuna, one after another.  They kept us busy for two straight hours, Brady and Tracy reeled in 20.  We lost some, but caught more than we lost.  The birds were leaving, and so were the fish, so off we headed to another buoy.  We hooked 3 Mahi Mahi, and caught them all.  Coming in we spotted a Marlin, but it wouldn't bite.  We also spotted a Sunfish.  An end to a great trip.  Aloha, Capt. Steve and Scot

Right on time we headed out in 20 kph trades going to a buoy.  On the way, we took a triple, all Skipjack Tuna.  We landed two and lost one to the prop.  Oh well....  We headed to another buoy, then another, where we saw Mahi Mahi.  They weren't biting much, but we caught a 15 pounder.  On the way home we hooked a small Marlin, but it jumped off the hook.  Bummer.  It was a very rough day, but no one asked to come in early.  Good job everyone!   Aloha Capt. Steve and Scot

We left the harbor on time this windy and rough day.  We were in search of big tuna, so we headed for our favorite buoy.  Nothing there so we headed towards another buoy.  We spotted a cargo net, and hooked a Mahi Mahi, but it came off.  We headed towards one last buoy.  We hooked 3 Mahi Mahi, one came off, but Ryan and Noah reeled in two.  It was a very rough day, but no one got sick.  Great Job Guys!  Aloha Capt. Steve and Scot.

We started out at 1pm for an afternoon half day of fishing.  We started towards Waimea Bay, then headed out.  Nothing was biting and the ocean was rough, so we decided to head west.  We found a massive bird pile, and hooked three Aku.  Matt and Nathan both reeled one in.  We didn't catch anything on our way in, but we did see a pod of whales.  Pretty rare for this time of year.  We also saw a couple sharks and fed an Ewa bird.  Nice day of fishing and fun.  Great job guys!  Aloha Capt. Steve and Scot
