We took a blide strike on the corner and landed a nice 125 pounder. Then a ways farther out we took another hit and Rich Sr. landed a big 186 pounder, a great battle. One more big hit and Steve pulls a big 180 pounder to the boat and we get it too. These guys did super today on these big bad fish. Back in the harbor every one but Wade ate an eyeball out of a big ahi, great job today guys you did great. Aloha Capt Rusty

In the dark on this day of 15 kph trades we got going headed for a west side buoy. At the buoy we baited and hooked the 2 mahi on the first pass, in the middle of 12 boats, we managed to keep it away from all the nboats and Steve landed the bully a 44 pounder. More baiting but no bites so we jigged and caught some small aku and ran an aku live. When we baited again we hooked some nice size shibi and got 3 of them in the boat. On our way in we found an aku school and took a hit but it did not stick. Great job today today you guys did super today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Fred Martin, Jacob Holston, John Crisp, Buddy Stonebraker and Oscar Lemus caught 5 shibi for a great day of fishing today
|
It was nice and dark as we took off on this day of 20+ kph trades going to a west side buoy. At the buoy we baited and hooked a shibi that got chewed on by a shark. Next pass and we get a nice size shibi, then we had lots of hits and misses and some hookups. Then on our last pass we had 2 fish on and a big 90 pounder hooked up and screamed on a tiagra 30. Jacob was the angler and he did great with some help from Scot, he had this fish to the boat in about 20 minutes, a great battle it was. On our way home we had an ono hit but it came off. These guys did great on this rough day good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Ned Lemieux, Fernando Magofna, Rod Mitchell, Pete Borton and Kelly Merrill caught 1 mahi today
|
Right on time and off we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. Nothing at the buoy so we keep going out and up. We found some schools of aku but they are so small that they don't bite for us. We ended up at another buoy but nobody was home. Then we found some mahi that were so small that they could not even eat a bait. Finally we found a school of mahi that had a big enough fish to swallow a bait and Rod lands a nice one. These guys were great on this long low on action day, good going guys. Back in the harbor Ned and Rod were the guys that ate mahi eyeballs gladly, great to have you guys on board again. Aloha Capt Rusty

Mike Antonelli, Chris Carter and Doug Anderson caught 7 mahi for some fun today

It was getting light as we took off on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On our way we took a mahi hit on the corner and got a small mahi. at the buoy we took a double small mahi and landed both of them. We came back with bait and hooked one but it came off at the boat. On outside we troll, till we come to an open school and hook a small mahi and get it, there is a pattern developing here. Next open school and can you guess what we get, yes a small mahi, it is an infestation. A few more schools and all small ones. These guys did good today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Scott Porter, Josh Burden and Matt Porter caught 1 ahi a 115 pounder 5 mahi 3 shibi and 1 ono for a super action packed day of fishing
|
With 25 kph trades blowing hard we took off in the dark going to my favorite bouy. Along the way we found an open school and get a mahi out of it. At the buoy we baited and hooked up right away and got back a good sized shibi tail and a small mahi . The next hookup was a big shibi that Scott battled to the boat on 80 pound test it was a 75 pounder it gave him a good work out. A few more shibi and we set up and trolled outside looking for bigger fish. Then we took a blind strike on the long center that screamed out 400 yards of line fast, Matt was the angler and he had this fish back to the boat in about 20 minutes, a great fight, good going. Next we found an open school of mahi and we baited up one nice big one and landed it. Another blind strike and we get a nice 30 pound ono to join us in the boat. Another open school and 2 more mahi come aboard. These guys did great on this rough day landing all these fish, great job men you were a pleasure to have with us today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Jeremy Tonkin, Michael Jordon, Jamie Tonkin and Randy Tonkin caught 2 shibi and 5 aku for a bit of fun today
|
In the darkness with 15 kph trades blowing we took off going to my old favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited but got no hits so we jigged and caught some real small aku. Then we set up and trolled way outside to 30 miles but only found one small bird pile that did not produce anything for us. We did see a marlin right next to the boat chasing something but it only got us all excited and did not bite for us. So back in to the buoy where we baited and jigged but only caught 2 more small aku. These were great folks, good to have aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty

Mark Pearson, Steve Shiraishi and Scot caught 16 mahi 10 shibi 5 aku and 1 ono for lots of action today
|
At the usual time off we go on this day of 15 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited and the first big shibi we hooked got bit in half by a shark. The next one we landed, then we jigged and got a few small aku and shibi and one more big shibi too. Then we set up and went way outside, at 32 miles we found a ball of rope floating and started baiting up these small mahi 2 or three a pass at first, it was great action on light line. When they got smart we trolled and hooked one ono and got it. On the way in we found some aku but they did not bite for us. Good going men a great day it was. Aloha Capt Rusty
