Dawn was breaking as we set off on this day of 30 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. A couple of miles inside the buoy we took a hit on the corner that screamed out half a spool real fast, we got Mike in the chair and in about 25 minutes he had a 125 pound ahi in the boat, a new year todate record for us, good going Mike. At the buoy we baited but got no hits so we jigged and caught some small aku and ran one live. When we baited again Scot was hooking big shibi, he hooked 3 and we landed 3, Evan's was a 59 pounder. It was a rough day and these guys handeled it well, good going men. In the harbor they all swallowed shibi eyeballs, with a little peer pressure, great to have you aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the time off we go heading west to dodge the 30 kph trades. As we passed the first fad we took an ono hit and Stanley landed a nice ono. Then we found an open school and took a hit and Scot baited up one more Joe's bully was 30 pounds, good going. At the next fad we jigged and caught 1 shibi and ran it live. We baited and jigged nothing happened, and were getting ready to troll when a marlin swims by and Scot drops a bait out and hooks it on 80  with 100 leader and Stanley is the angler. This fish was spectacular in how much it jumped, it even rushed the boat as it jumped back towards us and passed us 20 yards out flying out of the water as we gassed it away. Then just when we thought it was done it came to life and put on a great show 10 yards behind the boat, Stanley managed to get this wild fish that looked to be about 180 pounds to within 10 feet of the boat before it jumped one last time and broke the leader, it was a great fight. Back in the harbor Joe and Stanley both ate mahi and ono eyeballs gladly, Joe even wanted seconds, good going you guys did great. Aloha Capt Rusty

Right on time at 4:45 off we go on this day of 30 kph trades going to the west side to hide from the wind and to try for an ahi. We went all the way to 10 miles outside the S bouy, but got no hits. We worked the area where some ahi had come up but no blind strike for us, so we headed in to a bouy and jigged and caught one shibi and 5 aku on light line. On our way home we had an ono slam the center but it came off. Back in the harbor Emile and  Alex were bold enough to eat shibi eyeballs gladly, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Still dark as we set out on this day of 20 kph trades going to the west side. As we rounded the point we took a triple 2 ono and a shibi and got one ono and the shibi and lost a lure to an ono. Then on our way outside we had a marlin come in and slam the center but did not hookup, Scot dropped the lure and teased it but it did not come back for seconds, bummer. Then we found a big aku school and could not get a bite in them, even though it looked good no bites. We then found some porpoise and followed them for a while with no luck. These folks did real good with the day we had, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Right on time and out we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we took a double small aku and shibi and got them both. Then we came back with bait and got no bites. So we jigged and the small aku were biteing good, lots of doubles, and we ran a nice size aku live. More jigging and Tim hooks a nice 23 pound shibi and lands it, good going.  On our way in we had a huge marlin hook up on the corner scream out 200 yards and never jump once, Eric was the angler. It looked like we had it coming 20 minutets into the fight when the line came up and then ran under the boat super fast and misssed the props but broke mainline 70 yards out, bummer. We put another live bait out but got no action on it. Back in the harbor only Brett and Joe did not eat shibi and aku eyeballs gladly good going guys, you were fun to have aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the appointed hour off we with 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited and only caught a small shibi so we jigged and caught some good size aku and shibi and ran an aku live. A barracua chopped our aku so we put out a wire and got no bites. Then we set up and trolled out and found an aku school but it did not bite for us. We ended up at another buoy where we took a double mahi and Deborah landes a nice 26 pounder, good going. We came back with bait and only had a nibble. These folks did great today .Aloha Capt Rusty

It was the right time as we set forth on this day of 10-15 trades going to my next favorite buoy. On the way we found a school of mahi and Scot quickly baited up 3 nice mahi. The big bully that Jeff landed was whopping 51 pounds, a great fight no wonder it took so long. At the buoy we caught an aku on our first pass. Then when we baited at the buoy a small mahi ate a bait and we got it. Then we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku and a shibi live, no takers today. On our way in we had a marlin grab one rigger and then slam the center but it didn't stick, bummer. Then just outside the harbor we had the center slam and an ono sliced our lure and got away. These guys were great today, a pleasure to have aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was light as we set out on this day of 10-15 trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy the aku were boiling so we jigged and caught some aku and shibi and ran a shibi live. When we baited Scot hooked a mahi and Jeff landed it. Then we had a big mahi bite and jump and throw the hook, bummer. Scot baited up a few more small shibi, fun on light line. These guys did great today, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Right on time off we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we took a small shibi hit and got it. When we came back with bait we hooked a mahi and landed it. Then we jigged and caught some small shibi and ran one live. A shark ate our shibi, so we put out a wire leader and hooked the shark up and reeled it in gave it a stern talking to and let it go. Then we jigged some more and caught more shibi. On our way in we hooked a marlin 3 miles inside the buoy and Mike landed it in record time, these guys did great on all these fish, good going men, you guys were  lots of fun to have aboard.
