Like clockwork out we go again with 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. There we baited and had a few misses and a few shark bite offs before Scot hooked a couple nice size shibi and Pat and Marty both landed fat ones. We baited a bunch more but nobody came so we jigged. These guys did good reeling in these small shibi and aku and we ran an aku live. When we baited again a shark ate our aku in half, and the the porpois came so we left. Good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

In the cool clear gray of dawn out we go with 15 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught a bunch of small aku and few small shibi and ran an aku live. When Scot baited nothing came so we set up and trolled out side. At 5 miles we took a marlin hit on the corner that screamed out 200 yards of line and then came in nice and easy, and Gary did fast work with some help from Scot in getting this fish to the boat in a hurry, good going. Then we went back to the buoy and baited around but got no takers. On our way in we took an ono hit and Scott landed a nice ono. These folks did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

So back to our side and we catch some small shibi at another bouy, and had our live shibi eaten by a shark. On our way in we took a ono hit and Barry landed a nice ono right outside the harbor. These guys did great today, and Bill even ate an eyeball gladly, I like it, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

When Scot baited only small fish came up. Then a cuda chopped a fish in half and then our aku too, when we put out a suicide rig we got no cuda bites. Then we set up and trolled to another buoy. There we jigged and caught a few more aku and ran one live. When Scot baited he hooked a few bit bigger shibi and one nice 25 pounder, these guys did great on these fish today, good going. Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  The Walker Family Brandon, Scott, Jimmy and Susan caught 1 mahi 1 barracuda 5 shibi 1 shark 4 aku for lots of good fun today
With 20 kph trades today we headed for my old favorite buoy today. At the buoy we took a small shibi hit on the rigger and got a small shibi. Next pass we had a mahi hit and Brandon landed a nice one. When we jigged we caught a few aku and ran one live. A shark ate our aku and hooked up so we reeled it up took its picture and cut the line. When Scot baited he had a few hits but nothing stuck. Then a barracuda chopped our live aku in half, we came back with an aku with a wire trailer and it did the job and Jimmy reeled in a new boat record for the year barracuda at 40 pounds. These folks did great today on these fish. In the harbor the whole family ate shibi eyeballs gladly, they were a fun group to have on board. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the appointed time out we go with 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught some aku and shibi and ran an aku live. When Scot baited we got no hits at all so we set up and trolled to another buoy. We found an open school and landed a nice size mahi on the way. At the buoy we baited but nobody came to lunch, so off we go to one more buoy. Arriving we baited and got sharked a bunch before Scot hooked a nice shibi and managed to help Daren get it before the sharks that were closing fast could get it. These guys did good today on these fish, good going men. And in the harbor the real bold men of the gang Daren and Parker both gladly ate shibi eyeballs, I like it. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Wade and Pamela Simpson, Carl and Barbara England caught 6 shibi and 3 aku and we had marlin encounters today
We got underway right on time with trades of 20 kph going to my old favorite buoy. There we jigged and caught a few small aku and shibi, and ran an aku live. When Scot baited he only had 2 bites the second one was a marlin about #200 that Carl reeled all the way to the boat on 80, where at leader the fish cut back and shook it's head and gave us our hook back with less than 8 feet to go, bummer. Back at the buoy we ran an aku live, and before long a marlin was looking at it but would not eat it, it followed for a long time. Then when we jigged to catch a live aku we had another marlin eat an aku and break 80 on the run. These guys did great fighting that fish today, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  The Walters Family Laura, Rob, Nate, Nick and Kendra caught 9 shibi 6 aku and 5 sharks for an action packed day of fishing on the Kuuloa Kai
In the dark and out we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. Arriving we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. When Scot baited he hooked sharks every time  for a while there, the guys got a good workout reeling these 6 foot long silky sharks in Rob was the shark master as he reeled in 3 of them, we let them go if they did not do it for us. Then we started to get a few nice size shibi baiting, with only a shark once in a while. In the end the shibi were the ones getting the bait, and we landed some more. And Rob also got the biggest shibi a nice 44 pounder. These folks did great on all these fish, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty
