We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. On our way we took a triple striper and they all came off, bummer. At the buoy we jigged and caught 3 aku and ran 1 live. It got chopped by a barracuda right away. Then we got a shibi head. It was slow so we set up and trolled out to 22 miles, on our way in we found an open school and saw a mahi but it did not bite for us. Farther in we had another slam but it came off after 30 seconds of screaming. We stopped and did our shark show, then we jigged and managed to get 2 kawakawa away from the sharks. In the harbor Landon and J. D. were bold enough to eat fish eyeballs. These folks did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 4:20 on this day of 15 kph winds going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught 2 small shibi. When we baited a small mahi was the only thing that  came up, it was a different day. We set up and trolled to another buoy and got nothing there, so we headed to the ledge and got a small mahi in the blind there.  Then we did our shark show and then trolled up some kawakawa. On our way in Evelyn got a nice ono just outside the harbor. These folks did great today. In the harbor they both gladly ate shibi eyeballs, I like it. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 4:30 on this day of 15 kph winds going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we took a double mahi ono and got them both. Then we jigged and caught one aku and then hooked a big shibi on 80, while it was still screaming Scot put out a bait and hooked another one even bigger. These guys did great, these fish put up a real fight on light line. We got both of them. Then we baited and jigged and got a few small aku and shibi. Then Scot hooked a nice big 38 pound mahi on 100 pound test and Ty got it to the boat in about 10 minutes. We got one more mahi and set up and trolled. No hits on the way in. In the harbor all these guys were game to eat shibi eyeballs gladly. Good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got underway at 4:30 on this day of 15 kph winds going to my favorite buoy. The lures had only been in the water for 10 minutes when the rigger slamed hard and screamed long and hard, just like an ahi. The sun wasn't even up yet and Ken was in the chair with a big ahi on and fighting. It took about 30 minutes and we had an ahi that went 172 on the deck. At he buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. The aku was promptly chopped up by another big barracuda. When Scot baited  he got some nice shibi on light line and these guys did great on them all. On our way in we got a nice mahi in the blind. In the harbor all these guys were bold enough to eat shibi eyeballs, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

When we baited Scot hooked 3 more nice shibi on light line, they are a nice fight. These guys did great on all these fish. On our way in we had a marlin slam the center 5 miles out. It screamed out 400 yards of line and Kevin was the angler, he did great getting it to the boat with some help from Scot in 25 minutes, then with only 35 feet to go it came off, bummer. In the harbor only Fred was bold enough to eat an eyeball out of a shibi, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi, and ran 1 live aku. When we baited Scot got a few shibi, and a shark chopped our aku in half. We put out another live aku and a shark ate it and Phillip reeled it in, and we tagged it and it cut itself loose at the boat. We set up and trolled and we got a few miles away and we took a double ahi in the blind, only one stayed on, and Alun was in the chair. It took about 25 minutes for him to get this big fish to the boat, it was gut hooked so it was easy at gaff. We made a loop back to the area and then in. Back in the harbor only Alun and Phillip were eager to eat shibi eye balls, good going you guys did great today. This is a new record ahi of this year for us. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got underway at 5:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran 1 aku live. When Scot baited he hooked a big shibi that Charlie reeled all the way to the boat only to have it break the 80 pound test, it looked to be about 60 pounds bummer. Then the 20 pound kind started hooking up on light line and we got a few more. These guys did good on this rough day, good going men. On our way in we got a nice ono.
