We got going a 4:45 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We took a double ono on our first pass but they both came off. Next pass Chris got a nice ono. Then with only one lure left in the water at idle speed a marlin ate the lure and hooked up. It never jumped at all and Tony had it to the boat in less than 10 minutes, where it gave us a bit of a tussel but we held on to it. We caught some aku and shibi and ran one live, no sharks came around today. When we baited Scot got some shibi, then 2 mahi came behind the boat and Scot baited them both up, and we got them both. When we set up to troll away from the buoy we had a marlin grab the corner lure and scream out 400 yards of line and then came off, bummer.  Back in the harbor only Chris was bold enough to eat an eyeball. These guys did great today on all these fish, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 4:30 on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We took a mahi hit on the corner pole and got a nice mahi. Then we put out an aku live and a shark promptly came up and ate it, but it came off. Next aku got eaten by another shark and it came off too. One more live bait and this shark stayed on and we tagged it and let it go. Then we baited and Scott got a couple small shibi and then hooked a shark on 60 pound test and Omar did great reeling it in and we tagged it and let it go. These guys did great on this rough windy day. Back in the harbor all of these guys ate eyeballs gladly, I like it. Good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we hooked a  mahi on our second pass and Trevor got it. Then we caught some aku and ran 2 live. The sharks were eating our fish before we could reel them in, and there was a big barracuda taxing us too. We got a shark on and it bent the hook open and came off. Next shark we got on cut the mono leader after a long fight. A mahi came around and Scot baited it up, but it broke line after a while. We got bit off a lot today. No hits on the way in. At the harbor everyone except Trevor ate a fish eyeball, and Jean and Brett even had 2 each, I like it. These folks did a great job today. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 6:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. On our way we hooked our mahi and surfed it in. At the buoy no hits so we jigged and got no hits  so we baited and nothing came around. It appears that my old favorite buoy is dead no small tunas in residence any more. This is the time of year when lots of the buoys can slow down and even stop working altogether. We set up and trolled outside and then down and took a marlin slam but it took some line and came off, bummer. Then we found some nice looking birds, but took no hits. In the harbor all the guys ate fish eyeballs, then John had the whole eye and when we told him to eat it he said for $20 I will, so I said I'm in for $5, Dick said he was in for $5, then Josh said he was there for $10. So John with beer chaser in hand chewed and swallowed the whole eye out of a shibi.  Good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

When we baited we got nothing, It was so slow here we set up and trolled to a different buoy. On the way we had a mahi hit on the corner but it came off on the run. On the way in we took an ono hit just outside the harbor and Evan reeled it in and we got it. In the harbor only Jay and Brian were up for eyeballs. These guys did great on this really rough day, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

When we stopped to bait a shark ate one of our baits and screamed out 100 yards of line, Mike made quick work of it and we tagged it and let it go. We got some more shibi on bait but no big ones came up. These folks did great on this rough day, good going. In the harbor all the guys ate eyeballs gladly, I like it. Aloha Capt Rusty

When we put out the secret weapons Barry jigged up a 95 pounder and got it. That was the only hit we took on those today. When we baited we got a few small shibi only. On our way in we lost an ono just outside the harbor. Aloha Capt Rusty

Scott had it to the boat fast after it took out 200 yards in one run, then came up easy at gaff, a dripping wet 100 pound ahi. Our biggest so far this year. We set up and trolled it again and hooked and got a nice ono. Then we put out 2 live baits, after awhile an ono chopped one and then a shark ate one and we tagged it and released it. We got some aku and shibi on bait too. These guys had a great time and did super on all these fish. In the harbor they were all up for some eyeballs, I like it. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 4:30 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. No hits on the way, or at the buoy so we jigged and put out live baits. It wasn't long before one of our aku took off with a shark and Joe reeled it in easily. On the next shark it was Bens turn but his shark was foul hooked and put up alot more fight. When we baited the sharks made it hard and we got bit off alot. Then a mahi came in on a bait pass and Scot got it to eat a bait, it put on a great show. These guys did great today on all these fish. In the harbor they both ate eyeballs, I like it. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  The Fuller Family Cassie, Gayle, Callie, John, Kris, and Kim caught 2 marlin 2 mahi and some aku and shibi for a great day
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. We hooked a #140 marlin on our first pass at the buoy, Kris got it to the boat in record time, no jumping just one long run. It was easy at gaff the way we like it. We put out 2 live baits and before long another marlin came along and ate an aku and we were on again, Kris got this one to the boat fast too. When we baited 2 mahi came in and Scot hooked on and we got it. We set up and trolled and found an open school and got one out of 3 mahi there. These folks did great on all these fish today. I tryed to push eyeballs on them but was unable to get them to indulge. Aloha Capt Rusty
