Right on time in the dark off we go on this day of 25+ kph trades going to my favorite buoy. Along our way we took an ono hit and Daniel landed it. The buoy looked dead so we kept going outside. We started finding open schools and were getting 1-4 out of them it was wild action that kept these guys busy alot. We ended up deep at about 30 miles and worked our way back in finding schools along the way. Good going you guys did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the crack of dawn off we go no this day of 20-30 kph trades going to the ledge to hide from the wind a little. We ran baits for awhhile but got no hits so we set up and trolled and the first lure Scot put in hooked up before he got the second one in the water. Ralph was the angler by default, he was in the chair when it hit and with some help he landed a nice 22 pound ono that fought like a 40 pounder due to the fact that it was hooked in the shoulder. Good going men you guys did great, now the girls go. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Nikki and Luke Darby day 2 caught 15 mahi and 10 shibi 2 aku for some great fishing action on a super rough day
We set out in the dark with 20-30 trades howling going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we took a hit trolling by and hooked a big 92 pounder that Luke landed, great way to start the day. Then we came back with bait and it was one or 2 mahi or shibi every pass, It was hot action, just like how big the seas were too. These folks did great on all these fish, Lukes arm has got to be tired after landing most of these fish today. When we ran out of bait we jigged and caught a few more nice size shibi and 2 aku. Luke and Nikki were hard core to be able to go 2 days in a row with the seas a rough as they were, by the way we will only take people who are qualified as seaworthy out on days like this. It was a real pleasure to fish with you guys and enjoy the rest of you honeymoon. Aloha Capt Rusty

When we baited we caught a few more mahi and then hooked a big shibi that Luke landed a nice 92 pounder. Then it was nikki's turn and she had a bigger shibi all the way to leader and it came off, all the work and no glory, but she did great. Luke got one more nice big shibi, and a mahi on the way in for a great day. And they are going again tomorrow, Luke is an avid fisherman and it showed, and Nikki was solid on this rough day of big seas and high waves, see you in the morning. Aloha Capt Rusty
