Right on time off we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. Before long a shark ate our aku and Troy reeled it in to 10 feet from the boat and the swivel broke and way it went. The next live aku got eaten by another shark and this time Sox reeled it in all the way to the boat where we took pictures and cut it loose. Then we set up and trolled outside, We did not find anything on our way out or in. These folks did great on these fish today, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

We baited but nobody came so we set up and trolled outside. We found 3 open schools but only the last one cooperated and Scot baited up one mahi it it and we got it. These guys did good on this rough day of big seas. Back in the harbor only Brian was bold enough to eat a mahi eyeball gladly, good going guys you did great. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 4:30 right on time on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught lots of small aku and did not run one live due to the high shark population today. It was great action lots of doubles they had some good fun reeling in fish after fish. Then we set up and trolled outside, we found some big aku schools but got no bites in them. Then we found some mahi and Scot baited up 2 of them and we got them both. These folks did great on this rough day, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the buoy we jigged and caught a bunch of small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. Then we set up and trolled outside where we found a small net with mahi on it. When Scot baited he was getting 2 or 3 a pass in the begining, it was some great action and these folks just kept reeling them in one after another. This was their second day this week and better than the first, looking forward to fishing with you next year. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was dark as we headed out on this day of 20 kph trades going to a west side buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and ran one live. An ono bit our aku and did not hook up so we put out the wire and baited and took an ono hit and landed a nice 33 pounder. Then we had a few misses and then a big 43 pounder hooked up and Herman landed it. We had a few more mystery hits that did not stick and we worked our way home. We set out in the darkness going to a west side buoy on this day of 15 kph trades. At the buoy we baited and Scot hooked a nice mahi and Matt landed it. Then we headed out and up looking for bigger game. We found an open school but ti did not bite for us. Then in another school we had an ahi that was at least 160 pounds eat a bait on 80 pound test and it gave everybody a good fight in the next hour and a half. We had it within 20 feet of the boat at least 20 times but it just took of each time. Then just when it finally came to the boat it broke line with only 3 feet more to go to gaff, bummer I hate it when that happens. These guys did great today fighting that big fish, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We took off with all the other 38 boats at the crack of 6 and headed out to my old favorite buoy. The buoy has been dead but the area around it looked good and we saw some boats hooked up but could not get a bite. We trolled around and then went down and out and still no hits. We ended up at a west side buoy where we baited and only hooked a shark that bit us of. We did catch a small mahi and 2 30 pound shibi there but they did not qualify. On our way in we found an open school and Scot baited up an nice 26 pound mahi and we got it. We did have an ono hit but it came off on the way in. Day 2 we did not have any hits and only caught 3 small mahi, and that was the story of our tournament fishing this year better luck next year is all I can say, now we can go back to doing what we normally do fish the buoys and catch our customers fun fish. Aloha Capt Rusty
