We left the harbor right on time in 10-20 kph trades.  We headed to our recent hunting grounds and took our first morning hit.  It took 20 yards of line then came off hook.  We reset the lure and headed towards a buoy.  We had a hit on the way, but it didn't stick.  We got to the buoy, ran bait, and had several bites.  Two hooked up but we lost them all.  Probably sneaky onos just messing with us.  We trolled to another area and our outrigger came down.  The pole was bending and we saw it shake its head.  It was either a marlin or big ahi, but he shook the hook and got away.  We trolled some more and took a strike.  It took a lot of line and we thought we had a marlin.  Paul jumped in the chair and the battle was on.  Paul did a perfect job reeling and 20 minutes later he had a mahimahi on board.  The mahi weighed in at 36.5 pounds, tying our existing 2015 record.  We had a lot of action today, if only we had caught them all...  but that's fishing.  It was a pleasure fishing with you again, and look forward to your next visit.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We left the harbor a little after noon in 15-25 kph trades.  We headed back to the same area we'd just been.  Our short center came down, it took a little line , then came off.  We reset the lure and a little while later that same lure took another strike.  Dom jumped in the chair and reeled in a 20 pound ono.  We kept trolling and trolling, but no other bites.  Everyone had a good time and we are all eating ono for dinner.  Hope to see you again, Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We left the harbor right on time in 10-20 kph trades.  We headed to a buoy and ran bait, but no bites.  We tolled for awhile and our outrigger slammed.  Paul jumped in the chair and reeled in a 130 pound ahi.  We kept trolling and our center came down.  Mary hopped in the chair and began battling in a monster.  Then our big marlin lure took a hit and Jim began reeling from the pole holder.  Mary reeled a huge ahi close to the boat, then it pulled hook and got away.  Bummer!  Jim switched to the chair and continued reeling.  When his fish got closer to the boat, we saw it wasn't a marlin.  Jim landed a 115 pound ahi.  Alright!  We had another nibble on the way back to the harbor, but it didn't stick.  Nice fish Gentlemen!  Looking forward to seeing you again on Wednesday.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We left the harbor at 5:20 am in light variable winds.  We headed up the ledge looking for ono or mahimahi.  After about 15 minutes we took a strike on our outrigger, but it didn't stick.  Then our other outrigger took a hit and stuck.  Moments later our center came down and we had a second fish on.  Raffy reeled from the chair and Monty reeled from the outrigger holder.  Raffy landed a 21 pound ono and Monty reeled in a 19 pound ono.  Alright!  We reset the lures, trolled some more, and our corner took off.  Gaby jumped in the chair and reeled in a 16 pound ono.  No more bites so we tried a buoy, but nothing there.  We headed down and our corner took off with a marlin.  He was jumping and taking line.  Julie jumped in the chair and the battle was on.  Julie reeled ten minutes then Raffy took over.  Fifteen minutes later, Julie and Raffy had a 200 pound marlin onboard.  Great teamwork!  No other bites on the way back to the harbor, but still a stellar day of fun.  It was a pleasure fishing with you again, and look forward to your next trip.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We left the harbor at day break in 5-15 kph trades.  We headed out in search of big fish.  We found an open school of mahimahi, and took a double on troll.  We landed them both, then baited up and hooked three more, one after another.  These gals are pros and landed them all.  We headed further out in search of ahi, but didn't find any.  No bites on the way back to the harbor, but we all will be eating mahimahi tonight.  It's always fun fishing with you, and look forward to your next trip out.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We left the harbor at daybreak in calm waters and 5-15 kph trades.  We headed out to start our hunt.  On the way out our outrigger came down and the pole was bending.  Carlo jumped in the chair and reeled in a 20 pound ono.  We continued out and that same outrigger slammed down.  Ethan hopped in the chair and started reeling.  We strapped him in the harness and 25 minutes later Ethan had a 160 pound ahi onboard.  This puts Ethan on our top angler scoreboard for 2015.  Way to go!  We trolled some more and our center came down.  We thought we had another ahi.  It only took Vinny 10 minutes to reel it in, and it turned out to be an 80 pound marlin.  Alright!  We didn't catch a lot of fish today, but the ones we caught sure were nice.  It was a pleasure fishing with you, and hope to see you again.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We headed out right at first light in 15-25 kph trades.  We headed to a buoy and on our first pass, we hooked a mahimahi, reeled it in, and it jumped off hook right at the back of the boat.  Bummer!  We came back with bait and it got stolen by an ono.  We came back with a wire leader and hooked another ono, but it broke line and got away.  We left the buoy and headed out looking for big tuna.  We found a bird pile, followed them, and took a strike.  Chris jumped in the chair and reeled in a nice 10 pound skipjack tuna.  We followed a couple white birds, baited up on light line, and hooked a mahimahi.  Mike jumped in the chair and reeled in a 23 pound mahimahi.  On the way back to the harbor our center took a strike, Antonette jumped in the chair, and landed a 12 pound mahimahi.  Everyone had a fun day and will be eating mahimahi tonight.  It was a pleasure fishing with you, and we hope to see you again.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve
