In the first light off we go with 25 kph trades going nowhere in particular. We found some mahi and Scot was hooking them on bait one or two a time, good fun on light line. Colleen landed the biggest one a 20 pounder, and Marko was in second place. These folks did great on this rough day. Back in the harbor Jimmy and Marko and I were the ones to eat mahi eyeballs, Jimmy even ate 2. good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Jason Kroner, Greg Potwin, Gavin Potwin, Dean DeSelle, Beth Brown Schwartz caught 2 mahi 1 shibi and 8 aku for a fun day of fishing
In the first light off we go with 25 kph trades going to a west side buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught some aku and ran 2 live. When we baited Scot hooked a small shibi and we got it. A mahi came around but would not eat anything. A shark choped our aku and missed the hook. On our way in we found some mahi and baited up 2 nice mahi, It was great action for awhile. Beth's mahi is her biggest fish ever. Everyone did great on this rough day, and in the harbor Dean and I were the only ones to eat the ritual eyeballs, it was a fun day. Aloha Capt Rusty

Scott and Joe Joy caught 1 aku and still had a fun day
Right on time and off we go with 25 kph trades blowing headed for a west side buoy. Along the way we had a ono jump 10 feet out of the water and land on our outrigger lure slam it down and come off. Then we had a marline come in and hit 3 different lures and not find a hook. At the buoy the porpoise are there and hard to do anything, so we jig and manage to land one aku and can't run it live. So we set up and troll, at about 3 miles from the buoy we take a marlin hit on the center that screams out 400 yards of line and then starts jumping all around, it must have tailwalked 20 times, before it settled down it had 500 yards out. Joe had this fish to within 20 yards of the boat when it gave a head shake and the hook came out, bummer. Joe did everything right, and got all the workout and none of the glory. Good going guys you did great on this rough day. Aloha Capt Rusty

Craig McGuire, Tanya Tsan, Ross McGuire caught 1 mahi 1 marlin 2 sharks 4 shibi and 3 aku and 2 rainbow runners for a fantastic day of fishing
In the dark off we go with 25 kph trades going to a west side buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught an aku and ran it live. That aku was only in the water for 1 minute before a marlin came in and ate it deep. Craig was the angler and he had this fish to the boat in about 10 minutes flat, it was hurt, a great way to start our day. Then we jigged up another aku and ran it live and a shark ate it and hooked up Ross was the angler and he reeled it in and we gave it a stern talking to and let it go. Then Scot baited up a few shibi and a mahi came by and he hooked it and Ross landed it. Then another shark hooked up on a bait and Ross battled an 8 foot shark hooked in the side for 25 minutes with lots of help from me and Scot, it fought like a big ahi, we took its picture and told him don't do it again and cut it loose. On our way in we had a marlin attack 3 lures and finaly slams a rigger and hooks up and comes off jumping, bummer. These folks did great on all these fish and hanging on for the wild ride it was today, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

The Lanchbury Family Laurence, Jerry, Alex, Hector caught 2 ono and 15 aku for an action packed day
Starting out on time off we go with 25 kph trades blowing headed to a west side buoy. Along the way we take an ono slam and land a nice ono. At the buoy we bait but get no hits so we jig and catch some aku and run one live. The aku were biting real good for a while then a big marlin came in and ate an aku as we were reeling it in only 10 yards from the boat, I hoped it would come back and eat our live bait aku but it came back and didn't eat it. On our way in we took an ono hit and landed another nice ono. And right after that we had a marlin come in and hit 3 lures before it slamed a rigger and screamed 30 yards of line out and came off, bummer. These guys did great today, it was rough and they did just fine, good going men. This was their second time out with us. Aloha Capt Rusty

Will Chappell and Erica Chappell caught 8 mahi 1 #185 marlin and 3 aku for a super day of fishing
In the first light off we go with 25 kph trades blowing headed for a west side buoy. At the buoy we baited and Scot hooked 3 mahi on our first pass, it was hot mahi action. Then it was one or two a pass for a while, then it slowed down and we jigged and caught a few aku and ran one live. A marlin came around and looked at our aku but did not eat it. So we baited again and caught 2 more mahi. Then as we were getting ready to leave the same marlin came in and ate our aku down deep, and he was on. Will was the angler and he did a great job getting this fish to the boat in only 20 minutes, it was hooked so deep the stomach was coming out the gills. These folks did great on this rough day of big seas and high winds, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

John Stabler, Rob Nelson, Matt Nelson and John Nelson caught 2 mahi and 1 ono for a fun fishing day
In the dark off we go with 25 kph trades blowing headed to my next favorite buoy. Along the way we took a double ono and landed one nice ono. At the buoy we jigged and caught some tiny aku. When we baited Scot hooked a mahi and John landed it. Then we set up and trolled out. One open school of mahi and Scot hooks one and it screams out 100 yards and comes off and we never saw them again. Then we hook a mahi trolling and land it and go back and find a small round piece of wood floating and Scot hooks a mahi and it comes off half way to the boat bummer. We bait more but got no hits. These guys did great today with the big seas and rain every so often, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Staici and Greg west caught 1 mahi and 26 big aku for a day of wild action today
At the right time off we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Bouy is still sleeping so off we go into the deep. We found an open school of mahi and hooked one and greg got it. Then we found an aku school and took a 4 banger and landed 3. That school never came back up so we kept going out. Next big aku school we found was better we took a 5 banger and got all 5. Then it was 2 or 3 every time we got in them, it was hot action and it kept Staici and Greg busy cranking in fish. When the bite slowed down we headed in as at this point we were way over 30 miles out. Back in the harbor they both ate fish eyeballs gladly, you folks did great today, it was a pleasure to have you aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty
