Robert W. Spencer Aug 1925 - Aug 2008
It is with a heavy heart that Scot and I inform all of our friends and readers about the passing of our father Robert W. Spencer. He left us for a better world on Sunday August 24. He passed on at home surrounded by his family from liver and respiratory disease. Everyday we will miss his guidance and knowledge, his accounting and carpentry skills, and most of all we will miss his sense of humor that he kept until the end. Thanks Dad for giving us life and teaching us to enjoy life. No flowers please. Aloha Capt Rusty

The Stos Family John, Danielle, Dylan and Ryan caught 1 shibi and 12 aku for a little fun today
In the dark out we go on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We got rained on along the way, at the buoy we jigged and caught 1 shibi and a bunch of aku and ran an aku live. When Scot baited we took no hits, our aku got chopped by a shark, still no hits. One more shark bit on an aku and cut it off. More baiting and no takers, they are down there but not coming up. Back in the harbor all the guys were bold enough to eat eyeballs good going guys, you did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Kevin Wentz, Josh Kessler, Tim Green, Paul Lampley, John Englert and Chuck Swan caught 1 ono 3 shibi and 5 aku for a fun day of fishing
In the cool clear light of dawn off we go on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. There we jigged and caught a few aku and ran one live. When Scot baited he hooked a big shibi and we landed it. Then we had a barracuda chop our aku in half. Next pass we had a double shibi we landed one but the other one was big and Paul fought it to the boat where it was only 30 feet out and it shook the hook free, it looked to be 100 pounds, bummer. One more big shibi ate a bait and joined us in the boat. These guys did good today on all these fish. Aloha Capt Rusty

Dave Warner and the Willardson Family Jeff, Brooke, Jeff, Tyler and Matt caught 1 ahi 5 shibi and 4 aku for a super day of fishing today
Our adjusted start time is now 5 to be where we want to be at first light, and that's when we got going on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On our first pass at the buoy we took a shibi slam on the center and Brooke landed a nice 50 pounder, a great start. Then we jigged and caught a few aku and ran one live. When Scot baited he hooked a nice shibi and we landed one more. Then while hooked up to a shibi an ahi ate a bait and we had a big fish on 80 pound test, Jeff was the angler and with a bit of help from Scot had this 150 pound ahi to the boat in about an hour, a great fight good going. On our last pass Scot hooked a real big shibi a 75 pounder that Tyler landed easily on 80. Back in the harbor Jeff was bold enough to eat a real big eyeball out of his big ahi, I like it. These folks did great today, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Tom Eby caught 1 mahi 3 big shibi and 2 aku for a lot of fun today
With light trades of 20 kph we take off going to my next favorite buoy. There we jigged and caught 2 small aku and ran one live. When Scot baited he had a hit and a miss and then a solid one that Tom landed easily. A few more passes and we have one more on and Tom put another one in the boat. Then we had a marlin looking at our aku but he did not swallow it. Then we hooked a big fish that must have been a marlin but it came off after 2 minutes, bummer. A mahi ate a bait and came aboard too. The last fish was a 54 pounder that was looped on the tail, so on the run it screamed like a 100 pounder, then came in much easier. Tom did great on all these fish, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

In the early light out we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Along the way we took a mahi hit and landed a nice mahi. Then at about 3 miles to go we headed down and in, it was a rough day of wind and waves. No more hits on the way in. In the harbor only Dale was bold enough to eat a mahi eyeball gladly, good going. Jeff Hulbert caught 1 marlin 137 pounds and 6 shibi and 5 aku for a super day of fishing today
In the darkness out we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. Our aku was only in the water 2 minutes before a marlin showed up on it and ate it and hooked up. It only took out 100 yards of line and came to the boat before it even jumped at all, then it went crazy 20 yards behind the boat then came in easy at gaff. When Scot baited he hooked a few big shibi and Jeff landed 2 big 56 pounders and a few smaller ones. It was some great action on light line, and Jeff did a super job on all these fish. good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Scot and Jill and Lynn Dahl caught a nice 140 pound marlin 5 shibi and 5 aku for a super day of fishing
In the darkness off we go on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. When we arrived we baited and Scot hooked a nice shibi and Lynn landed a nice 42 pounder. We had a few more hits but nothing stuck so we jigged and caught some aku and shibi and ran an aku live. Lynn had a screamer on 60 that he reeled almost to the boat before it came off the hook. When Scot baited again he had a big fish on that broke 60 after almost spooling a tld 25. Then on our way in under an iwa bird we took a marlin hit on the corner and it screamed out 300 yards of line and never jumped at all. Lynn did a great job on this fish getting it to the boat in about 30 minutes, good going. These folks did real good on this rough day. Aloha Capt Rusty
