We got a 5:00 start on this day of 20 mph trades going to the J buoy. At 2 miles to the buoy we took a double marlin and one stayed on and Chris did a good job reeling it in, it was a 90 pounder. At 1 mile to go we took another marlin hit and Terry got to reel it in, it was a 190 pounder. At the j we got 4 mahi and then went out to 20 miles and on the way in we took another marlin hit that stayed on and it was Rob's turn in the chair, in 30 minutes he had it to the boat, a nice 175 pounder. At the J we took a mahi hit and Chris reeled it in, a nice 39 pounder. On the way in we found a log and got 18 more mahi, as if we hadn;t had some fun already. In the harbor all of these guys did the eyeball thing gadly. One hell of a great day of fishing. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got a 5:00 start on this day of 25 mph trades going to the LL buoy. At the LL we got 3 mahi on light line then headed down towards the X. We found a big aku school but hey did not bite. A ways from the aku we took a marlin strike that took out 300 yards of line jumping all the way and then it came off, bummer. Then we found a rope floating and caught 7 more mahi there before they stopped comming around. In the harbor Brad was game to join in the eyeball eating ritual. These folks did great. It had lots of mahi on it and Scot was hooking up 3 to 5 a pass and he even got 7 fish on at one time on one pass. We baited until it slowed down and then trolled for onos and caught 9 more onos, one big 38 pounder was one of a four banger and we got all four. No hits on the way in. All of these guys were game to eat fish eyeballs in the harbor. These guys did great. One hell of a great day of fishing. Aloha Capt. Rusty

We got a 5:00 start on this ay of 15 mph winds going to the J buoy. The small baits were more cooperative today and we got 15 or so for bait and then went out to 25 mils and found only some aku schools that did not bite. We were all over looking  for something and Scot found it, a school of mahi under an iwa bird. We got 2 nice big mahi on and they both got to reel one in. Brice's fish was only 1/2 pound bigger than Paula's, and both were about 27 pounds. On the way in we got a nice big ono just 4 miles from the harbor. Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Mark Nemerov, and The Carpentier family Jesse, Jared, Dale, Dawn caught one marlin 130 pounds and one mahi
We got underway at 4:40 on this day of 20 mph trades going to the J buoy. At the J we got some small baits, and we had a marlin come up and grab our outrigger lure dangeling next to the boat, and come off. Then we went to the II buoy and on the way we took a hit on the corner that came off but came back and hit it again. Then the center slammed, and came off, then the rigger slammed and came off. We circled around and came back through the same area and the other outrigger slammed and screamed, marlin on and jumping. It took out 500 yards of line and settled down like a good marlin. We got Jesse in the chair and he did a great job of reeling this one in. He had it to the boat in about 30 minutes or less and it was easy at gaff. On to the II and we hooked 2 mahi on bait and got one and lost one. Back in the harbor it was easy to get Jesse, and Mark to eat marlin eyeballs and Dale to eat a mahi eyeball. These were good folks to fish with. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got a 5:00 start on this day of 25 mph trades going to the LL buoy. At the buoy we caught some small baits and then baited for mahi. Scot hooked a mahi on our first pass and then one  the next pass too. We got one more and we left headed for the X. At the X Scot hooked 2 mahi but one came off, and we had 4. On our way in from the x we hooked a nice marlin. It ran out 500 yards and jumped all over the place, then it settled down and we got Dustin in the chair. He did a great job of reeling it in untill with 100 yards to go it just came off the hook, bummer.
