Kelly Bateman, Matt Dodd, Ray Cook, Jason Dodd, Brad Miles caught 7 mahi and 2 shibi for a real fun day
Right on time and out we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. There we found no birds no fish today, so we kept going to another buoy. There we jigged and caught some super small aku and baited but got no hits so we set up and trolled back to my favorite buoy. There we took a mahi hit on the corner that swam over and got caught in the big net that was near the buoy. We backd up and Scot managed to gaff that fish out of the net. Then we baited up 6 more mahi and 2 shibi all around the net. It was great action while it lasted, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Chris and Jennifer Livingston caught 2 shibi and 4 aku for some fun today
In the dark off we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. On the way we had a mystery slam on the rigger that came off. At the buoy we baited and got no hits so we jigged and caught a few aku and ran one live. When Scot went to lighter line he hooked a 60 pound shibi that Chris landed on 60 pound test, it was a great fight all the way. Then Scot had a few more screamers on but they broke line or came off, it looks like they are back. The only thing to get interested in our aku was a shark, but we managed to keep it way from him. No hits on the way home, these folks did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Matt Adams, Emily Adams, Michelle and Chris Luke caught 1 marlin that went 187 for a great day
Right on time and off we go on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. There we jigged and did not get any bites. Then a marlin shows up in our wake and while Scot got a big hook ready I tossed 2 free baits out to keep it interested. When Scot dropped a bait back it came right up and ate it just 40 feet back, when we set the hook it never jumped at all and gave Matt a great battle all the way to the boat, where it was easy at gaff. But a few minutes of laying on the deck and it started to flip around on the deck and flipped over 2 different times, I hate it when that happens. We baited more but no bites so we set up and troll to another buoy. There it looked good but we got no hits jigging or on bait. In the harbor only Chris was bold enough to eat both of the marlin eyeballs galdly, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Andy DeMar, Jace DeMar and Don Baldwin caught 1 ono and some small aku for a fun day
This was the flatest day with 10 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. The buoy was dead today, no birds no fish so we kept going to another buoy. Near this buoy we took a marlin hit that screamed out 300 yards of line jumping alot before it came off jumping, bummer. At the buoy we jigged and caught some real small aku, then we baited but got no hits. So we set up and trolled out side and we took an ono hit and Jace landed a 23 pound ono. Then we had a marlin grab the corner and scream out 300 yards jumping alot, this one settled down and Andy did a great job reeling it in to about 40 yards to go and it came off the hook, bummer. These guys did it all right that is just marlin fishing. Back in the harbor only Jace had an appetite for ono eyeballs, he ate both of them, look out Todai here they come. Good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Kc Moran, Alisha Zimmer and Michael Moran caught 4 aku for a bit of fun today
Right on time and out we go on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught a few small aku and ran one live. Then Scot baited and we had one hit and a miss, and one hookup that was probably a marlin that screamed for a minute or so and came off, bummer. So we jigged and caught a few more small aku, then baited again and got no hits even though we can see the big shibi busting here and there. These guys did good on what we could hook up today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Ned Lemieux, John Hite and Kelly A. caught 3 mahi 1 marlin and 1 aku for a great day
At the just right time out we go on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At 5 miles out we had a marlin slam the rigger and hook up but it came off, bummer. Then with only 1 mile to go we hooked a marlin that never jumped it only came up and shook it's head so we knew what it was. John was the angler and he had it to the boat in about 15 minutes, and it was easy at gaff too, good going. At the buoy we jigged and could only catch 1 aku so we ran it live. When Scot baited he got no hits at all, so we jigged and could not get a bite, so we set up and trolled to another buoy. There when we baited 3 mahi came in and Scot hooked 3 and we landed them all. The big one Kelly reeled in went 33 pounds, nice big bully. Back in the harbor only Ned and Kelly were bold enough to eat mahi eyeballs, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

With 20 kph trades off we go to my next favorite buoy. There we took 2 hits and landed a 10 pound shibi, and had a slam that came off. We jigged and caught some aku and ran 1 live. When Scot baited he hooked an ahi that Jason fought for 2 hours on 80 pound test covering 5 miles. It was a great fight, this fish fought all the way and Jason did it all right all the way. On our way in we had a marlin hit 3 lures and not get hooked on any of them, bummer. Back in the harbor Jason gladly ate a shibi eyeball, good going you guys did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Brad Heder, Eddie Rillamas, and Bo Zimmerman caught 2 mahi 1 ahi and 11 aku for a great day of fishing today
It was a clear morning with 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and on the first pass we landed a small mahi, then we caught some small aku and ran one live. When Scot baited we took no hits, so we jigged a bit more. Lots more baiting before in the top of the ninth we took a hit and hooked a big fish that Bo reeled in on 80 in about 30 minutes that went 100 pounds, it was a great fight. On our way in we took a mahi slam and Eddie reeled in a 37 pound bully that came aboard. Back in the harbor all these guys ate eyeballs gladly, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty
