In the early twilight out we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to the south side of town. We saw more birds and porpoise and boats than we have seen in a long time but no fish, it looked like it could be good but we never saw any boats hooked up. We went inshore and baited and got bit off on a few hits. On up the ledge we found an open school and Scot baited up a 50 pound bully and James battled it to the boat on 80 no leader it was a great fight lots of air time. We got a small mahi on our next bait pass, and had a few baits chopped by onos. These guys did great on this slow till the end day, and they both consumed eyeballs gladly, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

In the first light out we go on this day of 25 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. There we took a mahi hit and landed a nice 16 pounder. We came back with bait and Scot hooked 2 more and they came aboard. Next pass and he hooks a small shibi on bait, and one more too and we get them both. We then jigged and caught some real small shibi, and 2 aku, the new hatchlings from this summer, and ran one live. We baited more but nothing came so we set up and trolled up and in. With only 6 miles to go to the harbor we had a mariln grab the rigger and scream out 200 hundred yards of line jump and come off, bummer, it was exciting for a while there. Then we found some small mahi and hooked 2 and got one. In the harbor all of these guys were bold enough to eat shibi and mahi eyeballs gladly, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the time appointed out we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to a buoy far away. On the way we took an ono hit and Brian landed it. At the bouy we baited and nothing came, the birds are gone the fish seem to be gone too. We jigged and baited and got nothing so we set up and trolled a long ways to another buoy, finding nothing on the way, and nothing at this buoy. On our way in we found some small bird piles and jigged but got no hits. Slow day it was. Aloha Capt Rusty

Leaving on time on this day of 20 kph trades going to a far away buoy. When we baited at the buoy Scot had a good hit but it came off. Lots of baiting later Scot hooks a small mahi and Eric lands it. After more baiting finaly a big shibi hooked up and stayed on, Bill did great pumping up a 53 pounder, a great fight. We jigged but got no hits. Scot baited more but nothing bit, so off for home we go, no hits. These folks were fun to have aboard good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Then Scot snags a 12 pound aku in the side and we get it. There were a few hits and misses and some nice shibi giving these guys a good work out on light line, they all did great on these 50 pound fish. A few small shibi on bait and we set up and troll for home. In the harbor only Rocky and Elde are up for shibi eyeballs, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

More baiting but no more fish so we set up and troll out. We found nothing and ended up at another buoy. There we took a mahi hit on our first pass and got it. When we came back with bait Scot hooked one mahi and it came aboard, then he got bit off twice put out a wire and got a brief hookup that came off. Next pass he hooks one more mahi and Ruth lands this one. These folks did great today, even though I was the only one to eat mahi eyeball today, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was a flat morning on this day of 15 kph trades going to a far away buoy. There we baited and took a double shibi mahi the mahi came off but the shibi was a 50 pounder that Bob got to the boat fast and it came aboard. When  we jigged we hooked and landed and ran live, an aku. Then a mahi ate a bait and Rich pumped her up and landed it. On our way in we found an open school and hooked a nice mahi and Ken landed it. On the ledge we took an ono hit and Bill landed a nice ono. These guys are the first to go 4 times in a week with us and they were solid all the way. It was great to have you guys aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was the calmest morning on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Once there we baited but got no takers, so we set up and trolled out and found a small peice of hauser floating and took a double and got 2 small mahi. We came back with bait and Scot baited up 5 more mahi, then we set up and trolled out more and found a 6X10 pallet. We took a double mahi and Scot baited up 2 more on our first pass, it was wild action for a while there, and I don't know how he does it but Ken keeps getting the biggest fish each day. Then it was a steady bite of one or 2 a pass for a while then it slowed down and we trolled it for onos but got none. No hits on the way in, but in the harbor they all ate mahi eyeballs today. These guys are serious fishermen this is day three of four for them, and they are doing great, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We set up and trolled and found an open school and Frani landed a 32 pound bully in it. In another open school Scot managed to hook 2 nice mahi and we got them both. One more school and Adrian lands a real feisty 27 pound wahine. These folks did great on all these fish today good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was snappy right out of the gate on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite bouy. On the way we had a mahi hit the rigger but it came off bummer. Arriving we baited and Scot hooked one mahi then his buddies came in and we got one more on and they both came in the boat. We baited more but nothing stayed on, so we set up and trolled. One open school sat down, then we found a 7 foot long log and on our first pass Scot hooked 3 mahi and we landed them all. One more mahi and they disapeared. No hits on the way in. These guys did great on all these fish today. In the harbor today it was Bill and Rich who ate mahi eyeballs gladly, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty
