Ciaran and Scott Madden caught 8 onos for some fun
We got going at 5:30 on this day of 25 mph trades going to where the onos are now. We had 2 in the bag before 7 am, then it was a while before we took another hit, and got it. We got all of our hits except the next to the last one, all one at a time no multiples like yesterday. These guys were great, they handeled the rough water and caught all these onos. In the harbor they both were game to eat an eyeball out of an ono. And by the way Ciaran caught the biggest one, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Cody Maxwell caught 10 onos for a great day
We got going at 7:00 on this day of 20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We got one ono, on the way then we took a triple and got 2. It was a wild ono bite going on with birds all around and onos attacking the lures. We took lots of triples and doubles and ended up with 10 onos, the biggest one a 28 pounder. Cody did good reeling all these fish in today. In the harbor Cody was game to eat an eyeball out of an ono, good man. Aloha Capt Rusty

Lyle and Keoki Kawakami caught one big mahi and some aku and 2 small shibi
We got going at 4:00 on this day of 20+ mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we got some small aku and ran them live, after a while a big 33 pound mahi came along and decided that one of our akus looked good enough to eat and he swallowed it deep, with some help from Scot. Lyle made quick work of that big boy. Then we got some more aku and no big shibi. On the way in we had a big mahi grab the purple soft head, jump and come off, bummer. In the harbor both Lyle and Keoki were ever so slightly reluctant but eventually they both ate fish eyeballs, good going men. These guys did great in the rough water we had today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Don Sward, and Alan Curtis caught some aku and shibi and one big 55 pounder for a fun day
We got going at 4:00 on this day of 20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We had an ono hit on the way but it came off. At the buoy we jigged and got some live aku out, today the aku were biting real well. When we baited Scot managed to hookup one big shibi on 50 pound test and Don did a great job of pulling it to the boat in about 30 minutes, a great battle. No hits on the way in. At the harbor Don was game to eat not only an eyeball from the big shibi but one from a smaller one too, what a guy. These guys did great all day. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. No hits on the way, at the buoy we jigged and got some aku and ran them live . The bite was a little slow, but they are still there. It was near the end of out time at the buoy when Susan got the biggest shibi of the day a 12 pounder. Back in the harbor Laura, Ann, and Mike all ate eyeballs, I like it. These guys did real well with what we caught today, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

John Hryceko, Matt, Johnny, and Paris caught some small aku and one 280 pound marlin
We got going at 4:00 on this day of 20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. No hits so we jigged and it took a while to get an aku, when we did we put one out it got hit by a marlin right away, but it only chafed the leader and came off. The bite was slow and nothing came to bother our baits. On the way in we took a marlin hit on one corner, then it went to the other corner and hooked up and screamed out 600 yards of line jumping alot. Matt had this fish back to the boat in about 35 minutes, and it was sorta easy at gaff. In the harbor both Matt and Johnny ate fish eyes, and Johnny even ate the whole eyeball not just the lens out of an aku, I had to eat the marlin eye. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On our first pass we got a small ono. Next pass we took a double 10 pound shibi and got both of them. Then we jigged and got a live aku out. Right away a big bully came after it and swallowed it, we got him too. On our way in we had a bouble striper, and one stayed on. It screamed out 400 yards of line jumping all over the place, it took Paul about 20 minutes to bring it to the boat. In the harbor all of these folks ate fish eyes, I like it. Aloha Capt Rusty

Dave Jayney caught 2 small shibi and 2 small kawakawa
We got going at 5:30 on this day of 20 mph trades going to a place south and west. On the way we had a ono hit that just knocked down the rigger and came off. At a buoy we jigged and got some really small baits and ran 2 of them live. We had no takers so we set up and trolled south. We found a big pod of porpoise with some birds on them, it looked good but nothing happened. We went back to the Haleiwa side and found a mahi school, that did not cooperate. Back up and down the ledge with no hits. In the harbor Dave was game to eat an eye ball. Dave was a pleasure to fish with. Aloha Capt Rusty

Charlie Buchbinder, Tyler Otto, Ben Tsukazaki, Steve Lee, and Abe Mitsuda caught some small aku and shibi
It was 6:00 when we pulled out on this day of 20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. No hits at the buoy so we jigged and got some small aku and ran them live. Before long an ono chopped one in half, and a little later one got so chopped it took the hook too. The fish were not up and feeding like they have been latley, the birds were only there to eat our bait. The changes are starting. In the harbor only Charlie and Tyler did not eat fish eyes, the other guys liked them. Good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Steve and Kellie Camber caught 1 big shibi and one mahi and some small aku
We got going at 6:00 on this day of 15 mph winds going to my next favorite buoy. We had a big ono bite scream lots of line and then come off, on the run. At the buoy we got some small aku and ran them live. Only small aku were up at first, then Steve got a nice sized shibi on 60. On the way in we found a pair of mahi and Scot got one on and Steve reeled it in. In the harbor the fish got to keep their eyes today. These folks did great. Aloha Capt Rusty
