Our new boat is comming home
On Sunday we go to Kona to bring her home. Its a good 200 mile trip to Haleiwa from kona, so we will take 2 days to cruise home. By Tuesday afternoon we should be pulling into Haleiwa harbor with our new 38 mediteranean. A long trip like this will be a great way to get the feel of this bigger vessel. It will be a great adventure navigating the islands. More pictures on Tuseday when we get back. Aloha Capt Rusty

Jason Harrell, John G. Morrice, Jason Rupp caught 1 short nosed mediteranean spearfish and some small aku and shibi for a fun day
At the appointed hour out we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. There we baited and Scot hooked a mahi and it came off right at the transom, bummer. Then we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi. Then we set up and trolled to another buoy. On the way we hooked a 37 pound spearfish and Jason landed it, a new year to date record. There was nothing for us at the other buoy, so on to one more, and we saw some mahi but got no bites. Back in the harbor both Jasons gladly ate spearfish eyeballs, good going men, these guys did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Capt Rusty goes on vacation
For the next week or so I will be going on a cruise ship the Pride of Aloha around the ilands, so no fish reports for a while, and no e-mail, the phone is the only way we can book anything now, if I get ambitious a report from the ship is possible. Also there is a big change a foot, something bigger and better is comming our way, I will let the cat out of the bag soon. Thanks for tuneing in. Aloha Capt Rusty

Anthony and Kristie Cavaleri caught 4 mahi for a real fun day
Right on time and out we go on this day of 20 kph trades ging to my favorite buoy. Along the way we got a small mahi and a big mahi trolling. At the buoy we baited and Scot hooked a mahi and Kristie landed a nice one. We baited more but nothing happened so we set up an trolled to another buoy. There we saw mahi and Scot baited one up and it came aboard. No more takers so we trolled away. When we got to 40 fathoms the rigger slammed but came off, bummer. In the harbor much to Kristies protests and disbelief Anthony ate a mahi eyeball gladly, good going mate. Aloha Capt Rusty

Amiee Kim and her dad Bruce Saflay caught 5 mahi and a few small shibi for a fun day
We were blessed with a moonbow as we pulled out on this day of 25 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. It was a rough ride but worth it as we took a mahi hit on our first pass and landed it. Next pass and one more mahi grabs and we get it. We come back with bait and Scot hooks a nice 20 pound bully and Bruce lands it. Then we jigged and caught some small shibi and ran one live. We did a few more bait passes but nothing came in. On our way in we found some real small mahi and scot hooked 2 amd they came aboard. These folks did real good on this rough day. good going. Aloha Capt Rusty
