We left the harbor in the dark in light winds.  We headed to a buoy with no strikes on the way.  At the buoy we trolled by and hooked a 6 pound Yellowfin tuna.  The we ran bait and caught a 12 pound Yellowfin.  Couldn't get anything else to take the bait, so we switched to jigging.  We had a few doubles and a triple hookup.  All small fish, but lots of action.  We landed four more nice size Yellowfin, 6 smaller Yellowfin, and 21 Aku.  No bites on the way in, but we saw a couple pods of whales.  Aloha Scot, & Captain Steve

We left right on time, in the dark, in 15-25 kph trades.  Just before the buoy, we had several hits and finally stuck him on the port outrigger.  It jumped once and we knew it was a bill fish.  Phillip reeled in a 27 pound short-nosed spearfish.  We got to the buoy, ran a couple live bait, and had a double hookup.  We landed two yellowfin tuna, 13 and 14 pounds.  Then we hooked and landed a ten pound mahimahi and another yellowfin.  Then we started to jig and the boys got a double mahimahi hookup, and landed them both.  We kept jigging and caught 4-5 yellowfin tunas, but released the small ones.  Then we caught a nice 14 pound yellowfin and two small skipjack tunas.  On the way home, the center came down, the pole bent, but then it came unhooked.  Still a great days' catch.  Way to go guys!  It was a pleasure having you aboard.  Aloha, Scot & Captain Steve

We left the harbor right on time in light winds.  We headed to a buoy, and on the way we hooked and landed a small Mahimahi.  At the buoy we ran live bait, and hooked a Yellowfin.  Ben reeled it in, but there was only a head.  A shark got the rest.  We baited some more and hooked another Yellowfin.  We fought it awhile, then it came off.  Then we hooked a nice 14 pound Yellowfin and landed this one.  We had another Mahimahi hook up, it jumped a few times, then threw the hook.  Then we started jigging, and started catching Skipjack and Yellowfin tuna.  The guys were having fun feeling the bites.  Ben quickly became the new jig-master.  He had more bites than anyone else and was even getting bites and handing them off, for the others to reel.  We had a few double hookups and plenty of fun and excitement.  No bites on the way in, but we did spot whales jumping.  Another great day of fishing on the Kuuloa Kai.  Aloha, Scot & Captain Steve

We left the harbor at 6:30.  On our way to our first buoy we caught two Mahimahi.  Got to the buoy and caught one more Mahimahi.  We fishied the buoy for awhile, and hooked and landed a 14 pound Yellowfin tuna.  Then we caught a spearfish.  We headed to another buoy, ran live bait, and caught a Barracuda.  We took a couple pictures and released it.  On the way in, we caught another nice Mahimahi.  It was a very beautiful day, great fishing, and a nice end to 2013.  Happy New Year Everyone.  Aloha, Scot & Captain Steve

Trace Tarkington reeled in this Barracuda, but wouldn't touch it, so Scot jumped in to hold it.
