Right on time off we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Half way there we took a mahi hit and landed it. At the buoy we took an ono hit and Mary landed it. When we came back with bait we took a triple and got 1 mahi and Steve landed one big shibi. Scot baited up a few more mahi one at a time, then we jigged and caught some shibi, Steve and mary did great landing all these fish. On our way in we had a marlin slam the center and hit it again but not hooking up, bummer. Good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

We had 20+ trades making it sorta rough as we went to my next favorite buoy. Along the way we took a mahi hit and landed a nice mahi. At the buoy we took a triple and landed 2 mahi, a great start. When we came back with bait we got 3 on 2 mahi and a big shibi, we got them all. Then it was a steady stream of 1 or 2 or 3 a pass, with Russ reeling in fish after fish it was great action for a while there. Then we jigged and caught a few shibi and Russ was still going strong, he did great on all these fish, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Right on time and out we go on this nday of 20 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. Along the way we found some mahi and scot baited one up and we landed it. At the buoy we baited and got no hits after 3 laps so we jigged and nothing happened. So we set up and trolled looking for the marlin area, we found some more mahi and got 2 more to come aboard. The marlin were not to be found today where we looked. These folks did great on this rough day, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

The brisk trades are back and we had 20+ kph winds going to my favorite buoy. There we baited and Scot hooked mahi each pass with a few doubles, it was great action. Then we set up and trolled and took a marlin slam that screamed out 300 yards of line, Brian was the angler and he did grat landing a nice 123 pound blue in about 25 minutes. We set up and before long had another marlin on and screaming, this one only took out 200 yards of line and gave Blossom a great fight, she had it to the boat in about 30 minutes, a 137 pounder, good going. We had one more hookup but it screamed and then came off jumping, bummer. These guys did great today it was rough and windy but they hung in there, it was fun to fish with you. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Bill Krostek, Amy Beck and Holly Beck caught 6 mahi 1 marlin 1 ono and 2 shibi for a clean sweep today
On this day of 10 kph variable winds we heded for my favorite buoy. There we baited and Scot hooked 3 mahi and we landed 2. Next pass we get one more. Then we hook a big bully on light line and get it almost to the boat before it broke line, bummer. We get three more singles in the boat and we jig and hook a cute little ono and land it and 2 small shibi too. We set up to troll to the marlin hole and only get a mile or so and we take a marlin hit and it hooks up and Bill reels it in and we land a nice 147 pounder, good going. That make our first clean sweep of the year. These folks did great, the gals were real troopers, and Holly was adventurous enough to eat a mahi eyeball gladly, you were lots of fun to fish with. Aloha Capt Rusty

There were variable winds to 15 kph as we went to the marlin hole. There we found some bird life and it looked good but it took a while before we had a marlin hit but it came off. So we headed to a bouy where we baited and Scot hooked one or 2 mahi for a few passes, it was some great action. These guys did great landing these fish, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

With light trades of 15 kph out we go heading for the elusive marlin hole. After some searching we found some birds and when they came together we took a double and Dustin landed a nice 147 pound marlin and the other one came off on the run. We found the birds again and it looked good but we did not get any more hits till a shark hooked up and we pulled it up and took it's picture and cut it lose. On the way in we had a shot at a mahi but it came off. These guys did great today, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going right on time with 20 kph trades going to my favorite marlin hole. Once there we took a hit and it turned out to be a shark, that we gave a stern talking to and let it go. We then had 4 marlin hits that all came off, bummer. The next hit was a nice 30 pound mahi that Blake landed. Right after it came aboard the rigger took off with  the big bully that is only one pound off the year to date record, a great fish. Then we took a double marlin and they both stayed on and we landed them both, Mark and Stuart did great fighting these fish. On our way in we took a mahi hit and got a small mahi. These guys did great today, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Teri Kabisch, Lora Ledbetter, Starla Stires, Joanne Jones, Laura Stonebraker and Michelle Moore caught 1 marlin a nice 165 pounder a 35 pound bull mahi and a shark for a great day of fishing today on the Kuuloa Kai
We had trades blowing at 20 kph with a steady stream of rain squalls going to the marlin hole. There we found some birds and eventually had a bite and a nice 165 pound marlin screamed out over 300 yards of line jumping a few times along the way. Laura was the angler and had this fish to the boat in about 30 minutes, it put on a great show by jumping all the way out of the water only 10 yards of the side, and Laura did it all the way perfectly. And this fish was only hooked in the anal fin and wraped around a pectoral, we were lucky. To top it off Laura is going to be hanging this marlin on her wall, alright. Next hookup and it's a big mahi that Michelle landed, it put up a super fight jumping alot, and looking great. One more marlin hit that jumps once and pulls 300 yards out and comes off, bummer. Next hit and Joanne reels in a shark that took out 150 yards and gave her a good fight, we cut it loose at the boat. This is the first time we have had 6 gals fish with us and they did great on this wet and wild day. In the harbor I ate the marlin eyeball and Starla, who does'nt eat fish, ate a mahi eyeball gladly. It was fun fishing with you gals, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  David Ebling, Alexander Flom, Brandon Wheeler, Sasha Hutchinson caught 2 mahi and 2 small shibi today
With 15 kph variable winds, heavy fog we set out going to my favorite buoy. There we jigged and caught 2 small shibi. Then we baited and Scot hooked a mahi and we got it. Next pass we lost one. Then one more ate a bait and it came aboard too. Then we set up and trolled to the marlin area. When we got there the birds were working here and there but we got no hits so we baited and had no takers. So we trolled again and had one knock down only, it was one of thoses days marlin fishing for us. Good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty
