We got underway at 6:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. On the way we took a mahi hit but it came off, then in a massive aku pile we took a hit that took some line and then came off half way to the boat. At the buoy we caught an aku trolling and got a shibi jigging and ran it live. Then we baited and the only thing that came around was a shark, eventually it got our aku. So we went to another buoy and got 3 small mahi and some small shibi and aku there, the boys did great on their first mahis. Then just outside the harbor we took a mahi hit and Scot baited up one more. Then we did our shark show. These folks did great today on all these fish, John even brought and wore his own rubber boots, I like it. In the harbor John and Jason both gladly ate mahi eyeballs, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 6:00 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we got a small mahi as we trolled up to it. At the buoy we baited and jigged and only caught 1 small shibi, so we set up and trolled up and out. We had a marlin hit the rigger but did not hook up. Near a different buoy we found an open school and Scot baited up 3 nice mahi and we got them all. Then we went to the buoy and Scot baited up 2 more small mahi there. We did a shark show on our way in. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got underway at 6:00 on this day of 5-10 variable winds going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught 2 aku and a small shibi and ran the shibi live. Then we baited and caught a few nice size shibi, then we got a big one on and Paul, with some help from Scot landed a 64 pounder. The action was steady one or two a pass usually, one a nice 33 pounder. Brent got a shark on light line all the way to the boat and it broke line. These folks did great on all these fish today. Back in the harbor only Brent was bold enough to eat a shibi eyeball, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got underway at 6:00 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught some small shibi and ran one live. Next we baited and Scot was hooking nice size shibi on almost every pass. Then he got 2 big ones on and these guys did great getting them both in. A steady stream of hookups gave these guys a good workout today, and they did good. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Dana Dudley, John Wood and Cecil Booth caught 3 mahi 3 shibi and 1 aku for a fun day of fishing
We got going at 6:00 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we hooked a mahi on our first pass, and Scot baited up her hungry friend. Then we baited and hooked a bigger mahi and John got it. Then we jigged and caught 1 aku and ran it live.  We baited and got no bites, so we jigged and caught a few small shibi and ran one live, nothing came in to eat our live baits today. On our way in we had a nice marlin slam the center and bill it a few times, and make a pass at the rigger but never got the hook, bummer. These guys did real good today, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got underway at 6:00 on this day of 20+ trades going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught an aku and we ran it live. Then we baited and caught some 7-12 pound shibi and lost a few to the predators. At one point a small marlin took a good look at our aku but did not eat it. The baiting was steady action with Scot getting a bite on each pass, and on one he got 3 on and we got all 3. On our way in we got a mahi in an aku school. In the harbor all these guys gladly ate shibi eyeballs, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

W got underway at 5:30 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we took a big shibi hit on the center but it just slamed it and was gone. So we baited and eventually we got a small shibi, then Scot got a big shibi on bait and Rick spent the next 30 minutes or so working hard on this 55 pounder on 80 pound test he did great. Then we jigged and caught an aku and ran it live. While jigging we got another big shibi on and got it too. On our way in we got a nice mahi in the blind. These folks were great. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Krista Dixon, Jeff Ward and Mark Petty caught one 180 pound marlin and 6 shibi and 2 aku for a great day
We got going at 5:30 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. When we got there we baited and got 2 small shibi right a way. Then we had a big shibi on light line break line, and we got a few more small shibi. Then we jigged and caught an aku and ran it live, an hour later it was chased by a marlin and Scot dropped our aku back and it swallowed it as far as it could, it ended up stuck in it's throat, so it never did jump. Jeff was first in the chair and got it about half way in and then let Mark take over, very sportsmans like. This fish came up nice and easy at gaff with that aku sticking out of it's mouth, must have made it hard to beathe, we like it that way, saves on the body parts. Then we caught 1 more aku and ran it live, nothing came to eat this one. These guys did great today on all these fish, good going guys. Back in the harbor Krista and Jeff were bold enough to eat shibi eyeballs gladly, I like it. Aloha Capt Rusty

We put out at 5:30 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited and caught a few small shibi right a way. Then we got a big one on and in 25 minutes we got it with a bit of team work. We had a few more big hits that came off, no aku today. A few more shibi on bait and it was time to go. These folks did good today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Lois Polk, Bob Polk, Ruthie Polk, Jeanne Hurt and John Hurt caught 1 aku and 1 aha aha or needelfish today
We set out at 5:30 on this day of 25 kph trades going to the west side to hide from the wind. In the twilight zone we saw a few sharks. We got our one aku right around the point then went on down to outside makaha, the water was so nice, as always. No big slams so we got to the sallows and bait and take lots of hits but only hang on to one aha aha or stick fish, sharp needel like teeth. The coast line was all green from all the rains, the views were great. These folks did great today, I'm glad you all had fun. Aloha Capt Rusty
