Kelly and Jason Sandusky, Larry Sandusky, and Jason Goracke caught 1 mahi 6 shibi and 3 aku for a fun day
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 15 kph trades going to a buoy far away. On the way we got a small mahi in the blind. At the buoy it was crowded with 7 boats, we jigged and caught some aku. Then we baited and got a few small shibi and one big shibi. The birds were not as big a problem as they had been. Back in the harbor everyone except Larry ate eyeballs gladly. These folks did great today, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Lyle, and Barbara Fischer caught 4 mahi for some fun
We got going at 5:30 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We took a mahi hit on our first pass but it came right off. We came back with bait but nothing came in so we set up and trolled up and away. We took a hit in the blind but it came off too. The next hit was a small mahi and we got it. Our next hit was another mahi and we landed it too. Then we hooked a nice big mahi and Barbara reeled it in. On our way in we got one last mahi in the blind. These folks did great today, good going. I was the only one to eat an eyeball today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Steve Claywell, Dan Lane, and Bill Fricke caught 1 marlin and 7 mahi for a fun filled day
We got going at 5:30 on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We got a small mahi on our way to the buoy. At the buoy we took a triple mahi and got 2 of them. We came back with bait but nobody came around so we set up and trolled up and took a mahi hit but it came off. A few miles from the buoy we had a big marlin hit the corner and screamed out 100 yards of line and then came off, bummer. We went back to the buoy and took a double big mahi and Scot baited one up and one came off, we got two 30 pounders. On our way in we had a small striped marlin hit the center and we got it. Then 2 more small mahi hooked up just outside of the harbor and we got them both. These guys did great on this rough day, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Brian Wilkerson and James McKay caught 2 mahi today
We got going at 6:00 on this day of 25+ trades going to my next favorite buoy. With 3 miles to go we hooked up a marlin that took out 500 yards of line and never jumped once. Brian was the angler and he had this fish back to the boat in about an hour. It was close and was going back and forth when it just came off, only10 yards from the boat, and we never saw it at all. From the look of the leader it must have been wraped somehow. At the buoy we baited but nobody came so we trolled away. We found an aku school and hooked a 30 pound bully that James got to reel in. Next school we had a big bully hit the corner pole but came off, then a 27 pound cow came in and hooked up solidly, and Brian got that one. Back in the harbor only James was game to eat an eyeball. These guys did great today, it was a rough day and they handeled it well. Aloha Capt Rusty

Eugene and Laura Chang and Doug Reither caught 3 mahi and one ono today
We got going at 5:30 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We took a small mahi hit and got it on our first pass at the buoy, then we baited and nothing came around so we trolled up and out. We found a nice open school and took a hit and Doug got a nice 37 pound bully. The birds stayed on the fish and we got another pass and we hooked up a 40 pound bully and Eugene did a good job reeling it in. Then on our way in we took an ono hit and Laura got to reel it in, a nice 27 pounder. These folks did great today on all these fish. In the harbor Laura and I were the only ones bold enough to eat mahi eyeballs. Aloha Capt Rusty

The Anthony Clan Skip, Chad, Billy, Corey, and Ted caught 32 mahi and 3 onos for a fun day
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 25 kph trades going to a buoy far away. On our way we got one big mahi in the blind, then we had a single and Scot baited up one more, the bully was 46 pounds. At the buoy we took a double small onos and got them both, then we headed back in and on the way found a floater. It was a 4 foot square box with 4 white birds sitting on it, we took a 5 banger on our first pass and Scot just kept hooking them up one after another, it was some wild action for awhile there, with Billy being the only one left reeling in the end. In the harbor I was the only one to toss an eyeball in the air and eat it. these guys did real good today on all these fish. Aloha Capt Rusty

Jill Kennedy, Kari and Angel Diaz, and Steve Kennedy caught one 65 pound shibi 1 mahi and some aku for a fun day
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 15 kph trades going to a buoy far away. At the buoy we jigged and caught a small shibi and some aku and ran 2 aku live. When we baited the birds were just too wild, getting all our bait and chum. Finally Scot got a nice big one on and Angel did a great job of reeling it in, at 65 pounds it was the biggest big eyed tuna we have caught all year. We set up and trolled away and found some birds near a small floater and got 1 mahi there. Back in the harbor only Kari and Jill were bold enough to swallow eyeballs gladly, I like it. Good going you guys did great. Aloha Capt Rusty
