Dale and Sue Carlson caught 1 striped marlin one mahi and some aku and shibi
We got a 5:45 start on this day of 20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We got to be the second boat to the buoy and got a 12 pound shibi on our pass. Then we caught a lot of small aku and shibi and ran 2 live, but no takers. So we went outside and found an open school and got 1 big mahi. Then we went to another buoy and got some more small aku and ran 2 live and a striped marlin ate one and we got it. It was a sunny day untill we came in and it poured rain on us in the harbor. Toshio Koizumi, Eiji Kozima, and Sigekaze Kase caught 5 mahi and 1 shibi for some fun
We got a 5:00 start on this day of 20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On our first pass we took a double mahi and got them both. Then we went to an open school near the buoy and got one on lures and Scot baited one more up. One more big mahi hooked up in another school and we had 5. Back at the buoy we got a 12 pound shibi trolling by and then we headed in. In the harbor only I was up for an eyeball. These guys did well on all these fish. Aloha Capt Rusty

Michelle and James McFarlane caught 6 mahi and some small shibi and aku
We got a 5:00 start on this day of 20 mph trades going to my favorite buoy. We were second to the buoy and hooked up one mahi on our first pass and got it. Second pass we took a double mahi and got one of the two. Then we jigged and got some small shibi and ran them live, after awhile a mahi came around and Scot baited it up and Jim got it. When we baited Scot hooked up 2 mahi and Michelle and Jim each got one. Then Scot baited up one more mahi. On the way in we had a mahi hookup but it came off on the way in. These folks did a good job on all these fish. In the harbor they both ate eyeballs without much hesitation, I like it. Aloha Capt Rusty

Keith Wampole, and Jim Nase caught 14 mahi and 5 shibi for an action packed day
We got going at 5:30 on this day of thundershowers, lightening and 15 mph winds, but we did not get rained on at all, going to my favorite buoy. On our first pass at the buoy we took a triple and got 2 shibi and a 31 pound bully. Next pass we got a small mahi, then we caught a small shibi on light line and ran it live. Then we baited and got 5 mahi on one pass, 3 on the next and 2 on the next. Some shibi came up and we got some on bait. Then Scot hooked a big wahine mahi on light line and Keith got to reel it in, it was 32 pounds and Jims bully was 31. These guys did a real great job on all these fish. Back in the harbor they both were up to eating eyeballs gladly. For how ugly the day started the sun came out on our way in. It was a fun day of fishing. Aloha Capt Rusty

Charles Newmeyer, Linda Shultz, and Kaeo Hoopai caught 1 big mahi, 1 big shibi and some small shibi
We got a slow start due to some air in a fuel line, but at 6:00 we got going on this day of 15 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy there were 5 boats already there, we got some small baits and ran them live. It was slow so we went outside and found some birds but got no hits. We went back in to a different buoy and baited up our big 28 pound shibi, and we got a few smaller shibi too. Then on the way in we hooked a big 32 pound mahi and got it. These folks did great on these fish. In the harbor only Linda declined an eyeball, the guys liked them. We all had a good time today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Lasea and Mike Forney caught 1 mahi 1 aku and a bunch of shibi
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On our first pass at the buoy we hooked our big mahi and Mike reeled it in and we got it. We then caught some small shibi and ran them live, a mahi came around but we did not get it to bite. Then we lost a small mahi on a clarke spoon right at the boat. It was then that the bigger shibi started to bite well, and kept Mike busy reeling them in. He did a great job on all these fish. In the harbor only Mike was up for an eyeball. Good going. Tim Wilkes and Erin Hopson caught 6 mahi and 1 ono and some aku and shibi and a 34 pound barracuda
We got going at 5:30 on this day of 20 mph trades going to my favorite buoy. On the way we got a small ono and then later a small mahi came aboard. At the buoy we took a hit but it came off. Then we got some aku and shibi and ran them live, before long a mahi came around and ate a clarke spoon and we got it. Then another mahi came around and Tim got a bait past the hord of hungry birds and hooked it, and reeled it in. Later 2 mahi came in and one ate a whole shibi and the other one Scot hooked on a light pole. Tim got the big one and Erin got a nice one. The last fish was Erin's 34 pound barracuda on a live bait. These were some fun to fish with people we all had a really good time. Aloha Capt Rusty
