Becca Mott, Brian Mott, Joanna Mott and Matt Masner caught 12 shibi and 2 aku for some fun today
It was a calm sea as we took off on this day of 10 kph winds going to my favorite buoy. On the way we saw whales all over the place. Arriving we baited and Scot hooked a nice shibi and Becca landed a 20 pounder. Then it was a long time with no bites so we jigged and caught some small shibi and 2 aku and ran one live. When Scot baited again he hooked a few more nice shibi on light line and we got them all. These folks were lots of fun to fish with and did real good on these fish. In the harbor they all were game to eat shibi eyeballs gladly, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Mark Armstrong, Rick Abernethy and Gary Colt caught 1 mahi 6 shibi and 3 aku for a fun day
Right on time we pulled out on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we took a triple one mahi and 2 shibi and we landed them all. When Scot baited he hooked some nice shibi and we got a few and had a mahi all the way to the boat before it came off. When it slowed down we jigged and caught some small aku and a small shibi, we ran an aku live. We baited again but got no bites. On our way in we had a small mahi slam the center but it came off. These guys did good on these fish today, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Josh Zimmerman, Brandon Scheck, Jess Aungst, Steven Hensel, Brian Aungst and Tucker Fisher caught 17 shibi and 6 mahi for a real busy day of fishing
We're back and took off at about 6 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite bouy. On our way we took a mahi hit in the blind and got it. At the buoy we caught 2 small shibi and put them in the tubes. When Scot baited he hooked nice size shibi almost every pass with a few doubles and a few triples too. It was great action and these folks did great on all these fish. Then Scot hooked a mahi and some more followed in and we got 4 out of 5. The action was steady and real fun on light line. We saw whales here and there on the way in and out. In the harbor only Tucker and I ate eyeballs, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Kuuloa Kai II hauled and pressure washed, one more dry dock.
She cleans up and looks good with just a pressure washing, it's so nice to be able to pull her out on her own trailer with my truck, and to be right here at home too. All she needs is some bottom paint a little gel coat here and there and some polishing to be in top shape. I love this boat, she is a real work horse, and seems to love rough water just like me. She is a wet boat but the fishability of her deck is one of the best ever made. More as we progress. Aloha Capt Rusty

Scot and Dino back where we belong in Haleiwa with 3 mahi
Its good to be back in the water and in our own slip again. The new props made a big difference, less vibration, and better ride. Now just a few more projects and we will be fishing again. Aloha Capt Rusty

Scot, Dino, and Walt and I worked hard and now she is all painted and ready to go back in the water
Dry dock is never fun and never cheep, and this one is good to be over. She is sporting new props and a new gps/sounder, with some squids and a small set of teeth on the bow. We still have a few things to do when we get her home before she is ready to start a long year of hardcore fishing day in and day out. More from our trip around the Island back to Haleiwa.Aloha Capt Rusty

Natacia Howard, Mark Syryczuh, Dan Chaplinski, Richard Chaplinski and Odessa Gallett caught 5 mahi and 8 shibi for a real fun filled day of fishing today
Right on time out we go on our last charter before we go to dry dock with 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On our way we found an open school and caught 3 mahi in it. At the buoy Scot baited and hooked a mahi on the first pass and it came aboard. Then it was one shibi after another on light line. These folks did good on all these fish. One more mahi ate a bait and we got it too. It was a fun day, on the way in we saw more whales than we have all season so far. In the harbor I was the only one to eat a shibi eyeball. Good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty
