Slightly after 6 we pulled out on his day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Arriving at the buoy we hooked a shibi that was mauled by a marlin as it was reeled in. When we set up and trolled the marlin ate the rigger lure and screamed out 400 yards of line jumping plenty, then it came off bummer. Then we jigged and caught 1 aku and 1 mid size shibi. When Scot baited he hooked a nice shibi and Max reeled it to about 20 feet down and it just came off the hook. Next pass and another nice one all the way in and we lost it at gaff, bummer. One more and Max lands a nice 60 pounder. Scot gets another one on and this one breaks line 4 feet from gaff, it was one of those days. Back in the harbor Sonny was the sushi lover and ate a big shibi eyeball gladly. Aloha Capt Rusty

The first glimmer of light was showing as we pulled out on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Once there we jigged and caught some nice shibi that way, then Scot baited and the guys landed more shibi on bait. Then the Nesei showed up to lift pole another 2.5 tons of shibi and small aku, it's a fast wide open bite for them. We managed to keep hooking up around the edges, good fun these fish are on light line. A few mahi showed up and Scot baited 2 up and we got one on a lure. These guys did great on all these fish, often one after another, good going guys. In the harbor Dennis and Taylor both ate shibi eyeballs gladly, well almost. It was a rough day and these guys hung in there all the way. Aloha Capt Rusty

A wee bit after 6 and underway we were on a blustery day of 25+ kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. When we arrived the Neise an aku boat had been there and was just loading up on small aku and 10 to 20 pound shibi, it was wild as the shibi ate all the live chun they were thowing. We trolled and started hooking nice shibi, then Scot baited and hooked a few more and we landed them all. We had a small mahi on but it came off, bummer. The action was steady. These folks did great on all these fish especially due to how rough it was today. We saw some great whale action on the way out, they were all over the place. Back in the harbor Bruce was the only one bold enough to swallow an eyeball. Aloha Capt Rusty

There was a light mist as we pulled out at 6 on this day of 25+ trades going to my favorite buoy. On about the 100 fathom curve we took a slam on the rigger and it came back and ate it and we had a nice 70# striped marlin on Rob landed it easily. Next we found an open school of mahi and got one there. At the buoy we took a slam and a miss and then got another mahi. When we baited Scot was hooking a few mid size shibi. Then he hooked one that turned into a shark, that Rob reeled all the way to the boat before it broke line. On our way in we took a mahi hit in the blind and got one more. These guys handeled this rough and rugged day of big seas very well, good going men. Back in the harbor, the calm harbor, only Rob and Shaun were bold enough to eat shibi eyeballs. Aloha Capt Rusty

This fish was big, way over 100 but it was hooked on 50 with 65 spectra so it was going to be hard, but it was just about to stop screaming when the spectra cut into itself and it broke at the splice with only maybe 20 yards of line left. I hooked this one on a chunk of aku at anchor on the hurricane banks

At the appointed hour we got underway on this day of 15 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited and Scot started hooking some small shibi, good warm up fish. Then he hooked 2 big ones and Brenda got one and Barry fought one for a long time and it came off. A bunch more small ones and we got another big one on and Barry landed this one. The whale  action was great today with 2 whales jumping togther. Back in the harbor only Barry was game for an eye ball good going you folks did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

A shade after 6 we slid out of the slip on this day of 20 kph winds going to my favorite buoy. On the way we took a slam in a big bird pile, but it came off. At the buoy we baited and Scot hooked a few shibi and Ken got them all. The bird life at the buoy was sparse, but they kept biting. We saw some whales on the way out and on the way in. When it slowed down we jigged and ran a small shibi live. A few more shibi and in we went. Back in the harbor Ken was not only glad to consume an eyeball, but also to hold up 5 fish with one in his teeth, I like it, good going man. Aloha Capt Rusty

A few more shibi and an aku later Scot hooks 2 big shibi and one breaks off and Howard gets a nice 25 pounder. Saw some whale action on the way in, and back in the harbor Howard was glad to eat a shibi eyeball, good going . Aloha Capt Rusty
