Steve Barbee, Barry Armstrong, Jon Babiak, Dave Ludlow, Amy Fisher and Donny George caught 4 and 1/2 shibi and 2 aku today
It was a nice day of 10 kph lack of winds day going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited but got no hits at all, so after a long time of trying we went to jigging and finally took a hit and caught a few small aku and ran one live. Back to baiting and still no hits, so we jigged again and then caught a nice shibi on 50 pound test. More jigging and a shark ate half of a shibi as we reeled it in. Then we had a double and got them both. A pair of whales hung around the buoy for a while putting on a great show. On our way in we saw whales all over the place. In the harbor only Barry and Jon were bold enough to eat shibi eyeballs gladly, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Seth and Janie Higgins, Darren Wesneske, Craig Higgins caught 6 shibi and 1 aku for lots of fun today
On time and out we go on this day of 15 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. Arriving we baited and Scot hooked 2 nice shibi and Janie landed one and we got the head of the other one. The next pass we landed 2 out of 2. Then we had a few misses before Scot hung a few more shibi and they came aboard. One more shibi stayed on before the bite faded and we jigged and caught 1 aku and ran it live. On the way out we saw some whales from far away, but on the way in we saw some up close putting on a great show. These folks did great today on all these fish, and Darren's i-pod music was just right. In the harbor only I ate an eyeball but they did eat some sashimi from a fish we cut for them from yesterday, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Ashby Sorensen and Jennifer Davenport caught 6 shibi and 2 aku for some good fun today
There were some chops on the water today with 15+ trades going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. When we baited Scot hooked 2 nice shibi and we landed one. We baited a lot more with no bites, so we jigged and got a few more aku. Baiting again Scot hooked 2 more nice shibi and we landed them both, these folks did great today on these fish, and they were real fun to have aboard. On the way in we had a great whale show with 2 whales jumping right in front of us. Good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Lenny and Jane Montello, David Rhodes and Peter Consolini caught 7 shibi 1 aku and 1 shark for a real fun day of fishing
Light trade winds of 10 kph were blowing as we headed to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited and Scot hooked a shark and 2 shibi we landed one shibi and sharks ate one and Jane reeled a 7 foot shark all the way to the boat where we took its picture and cut it free. We did lots of baiting with no solid hook up for a while then Scot got a triple on and we landed 2 out of 3. One more double that we got them both then it shut off for a while. Then Scot got a bite that screamed a bit then a big marlin jumped and broke the 40 pound test it was on, bummer, we hate it when that happens. We then jigged and caught an aku and 2 small shibi. On our way in we saw a few whales on the inside. These folks did great on all these fish good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Jackie and Doug Caffrey and Vicki and Russ Anderson caught 10 shibi and 3 aku for lots of fun today
We had east winds of 10 kph today going to my favorite buoy. The aku boat was at the buoy when we got there and in the course of 5 hours loaded up 5 thousand pounds of aku and shibi, the big shibi were boiling all around them. All we had to do was bait near them and the nice size shibi bit real good, it was one after another for a while there. These folks did real good reeling in these fish. When it slowed down we jigged and caught a few small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. We set up and trolled to another buoy, but there was nobody home. Good going you guys did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Wendy and Duncan Hawksbe-Simson caught 1 mahi 15 shibi and 3 aku for a super action packed day of fishing
This was the roughest day in a while with 15 kph west winds going to my favorite buoy. There Scot baited and started hooking big shibi right away. The bite was on today in a big way, we were getting doubles and a triple too, it kept Duncan real busy and Wendy too. There were more birds around the buoy today than in a long time and the fishing showed it. They did great on all these fish today. On our way in we took a mahi hit and landed it. It was Duncans birthday today and the fish gave him some good presents, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

The Ockey Family Gage, Damon, Maryn and Hayden caught 4 shibi and 11 aku for some fun today
Another super flat day of 10 kph east winds going to my favorite buoy. Arriving we baited and got no hits so we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. We baited again and had a bite but it did not stick, lots more baiting produced no more hits. So jigging was the call and the aku and small shibi were fun on light tackel, the kids did great reeling in all these fish. When we baited one more time Scot had a nice shibi on but it screamed and then came off, bummer. These folks did great today, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Right on time on this calm day of 10 kph east winds going to my next favorite buoy. There we jigged and caught an aku and ran it live. Then we baited and Scot hooked 2 mahi one came off and Allen landed a nice 20 pounder. We then set up and trolled to another buoy. Arriving Scot baited and hooked a 22 pound shibi and we got it. A lot more baiting got us nothing so we jigged and caught a bunch of small aku, these folks did great on these fish. On our way in we saw a lot of whale action on the inside.
