It was 5:00 when we pulled out on this day of 20 mph trades going to my old favorite buoy. We took a double mahi and got one of them. Then we got a shibi. Then we went to the light line and got some aku and ran them live. Some mahi came around and Scot baited 2 up. Then we got 2 mahi and 2 shibi on one pass, and it was time to go in.  On the way we took a double mahi and got both of them. Jim did great on the fish he caught. Aloha Capt Rusty

We are back in the water at last. Today we got going at 6:00 on this day of 20 mph trades going to my old favorite buoy. We lost a nice mahi on our first pass, then got a shibi on the second pass. We went to the light line and started getting nice shibi on every pass, then 2 small mahi followed in a small aku and Scot baited them both up. More shibi action, then our big 36 pound bully ate our aku and hooked up, Bill did great reeling it in. We got a few more mahi and lots more shibi, Bill got a real workout on most of these fish, Cheryl got some nice big ones too. It was bouncy but these folks did great. Aloha Capt Rusty

This has been a week of sanding and laying fiberglass in various places all over the boat. The weather has been raining on our parade every few days, one front after another. This has been a super wet winter for us. About one more week and we will be back at it. Aloha capt Rusty

She is getting a cleaning inside and out. There is some glass work to be done inside and outside too. Sanding the bottom is a dirty dusty job, but not as bad as the sanding to prep for fiberglassing, that is an itchy job. The weather has been ugly with cold fronts comming by and raining on us every few days. That is normal for this time of year. More shots later. Aloha Capt Rusty

We have lots of small things to fix and replace, as well as paint the bottom, some fiberglass work here and there. The general cleaning and painting will make her look better. More reports as they come. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Bob and Kathy Zagar caught 7 shibi and 2 aku
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 15 mph sw winds going to my old favorite buoy. We hooked a 10 pound shibi on our 5th pass then on to the light line. We got some small shibi and ran them live. Then the secret weapons went out and the shibi bitgood for only one pass and we got 2. Then we went to my favorite buoy and we took a double shibi and got them both. When the secret weapons went out the shibi were jumping for them for awhile, then they slowed down, so we went back to the first buoy where we saw a fin back whale that came up near the boat. It is not the normal type of whale we see so it was a treat. In the harbor the fish got to keep their eyeballs today. Bob and Kathy did great on these fish today. This is our last trip before our drydock starts, I will be posting pictures of our progress as we fix her up for the coming year, Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of 10 mph west winds going to my old favorite buoy. We took no hits trolling so we jigged and got some small shibi and ran them live. When we put the secret weapons out the big shibi were ready to blast them and we got about 6 nice ones real fast.  When we went to jigging again we got a nice mahi on light line. Then we went to another buoy and got a shibi trolling. Then Scot baited up a small mahi and Mary reeled it in.  On our way in we hooked a 23 pound mahi and John got to reel it in. These folks did a great job on all these fish. In the harbor John was game to eat 2 eyeballs, I like it. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of sw winds at 25 mph going to my old favorite buoy. We took no hits on our first passes so we went to the light line and started catching some small shibi, then some bigger ones hooked up and we got them. Then we put out our secret weapons and the shibi were blasting them every pass. Pierre was a busy guy reeling all those fish in. On our way in we hooked a big bully mahi and got it, a smaller one came along with him and Scot baited it up too. Pierre got to watch as the bully jumped as it hooked up. These folks did great considering how rough the water was today, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of 15 mph trades going to my favorite buoy. We took a single shibi hit on our 4th pass at the buoy. Then we went to the light line and got some small aku and shibi and ran 2 live ones. When we baited Scot hooked 2 nice shibi and Jonell got the first one and Duke reeled in the next one. Then we set up and trolled out and down and found some birds and took a shibi hit and got one more. We went by another bouy but nothing happened there. We saw some whales in the distance but did not find them. No eyeball eaters today. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:15 on this day of 10 mph winds going to my favorite buoy. We took a single shibi hit and got it on our second pass. Then we got one more that Mary reeled in. And right after that we hooked  our aku and Russ got it. Then we went looking for whales and found some pilot whales. Closer to shore we found some humpbacks that were putting on a great show, there was alot of breaching going on fairly close to the boat. There was no eyeballs consumed in the harbor today. It  was a short and sweet day. Aloha Capt Rusty
