Melissa Closterman, Peter Emori, Walter Emori, & Andrew Emori caught 1 mahimahi, 1 yellowfin, & 12 aku
We left the harbor at 5:30 am in light winds. We headed to a buoy with no bites on the way there We got to the buoy, ran bait, but no takers, so we jigged and caught one yellowfin and a dozen skipjack tuna. We ran more bait, but no takers. We headed out looking for bigger fish. At the next buoy we baited, but nobody home. We headed to another buoy and baited, but nobody home there either. We spotted a few birds, followed them, and hooked a mahimahi. Peter did a great job reeling it in. We covered a big area today to find these fish. Not a huge catch, but we are all eating mahimahi tonight. It was a pleasure fishing with this experienced crew, and enjoyed hearing their many fishing stories. Aloha, Scot & Captain Steve

Jon Kampa, John Kampa, & Rich Hilsheimer caught 3 mahimahi & 2 aku
We left the harbor at 5:30 am in light variable winds. We headed to a buoy with one strike on the way, but it didn't stick. At the buoy we ran a couple baits and hooked a mahimahi. John reeled in a nice 15 pounder. While John was reeling it in, we hooked another mahimahi. Jon reeled in a 21 pounder. We continued baiting and hooked a third mahimahi. Rich reeled in a 14 pounder. The bites slowed down so we started jigging and caught two skipjack tunas. No other bites, and no bites on the way in, but still a successful day. Good fishing guys! Aloha, Scot, Captain Steve, & Hunter.

Carlie Mantilla, Josh Ochoa, Seth Given, & Kim Mercader caught 4 mahimahi, 10 yellowfin, & 14 aku
We left the harbor right at daybreak in 10-20 kph trades. We headed to a buoy and ran some bait, but nothing was biting, so we started jigging. We were hooking up almost every pass by the buoy, taking some doubles. We were landing small yellowfin and skipjack tuna. We tried live bait again, and this time we hooked a mahimahi. Seth reeled in a nice 12 pounder. We hooked another mahimahi, and Carlie reeled in a 10 pounder. We made another pass and hooked a third mahimahi. Josh reeled in the biggest mahimahi of the day, weighing in at 22 pounds. We hooked one last mahimahi, and Seth reeled in another 12 pounder. We headed to another buoy, but nothing there. On the way home we found a huge aku pile, and Kim reeled in three. Great fishing everyone! It was a pleasure having you onboard. Aloha, Scot & Captain Steve

We left the harbor a little after daybreak in 15-20 kph trades. We decided to take the more gentle scenic tour and fish calmer waters. We ran the ledge and hooked a mahimahi. Zachery reeled in a nice 22 pounder. Way to go Zach! No other action, but we did get to see some whales and some sharks, and everyone is eating mahimahi tonight! Aloha Scot and Captain Steve

Bob Humphreys and Tony Donaldson caught 2 mahimahi, 37 yellowfin, & 4 aku
We left the harbor at 6 am in 15-25 kph trades. We went by our first buoy and had four lines take strikes. We landed three yellowfin tuna. We decided to jig, and it kept us busy the rest of the morning. The guys did a great job jigging and had plenty of double and triple hookups. They landed a total of 37 yellowfin and 4 skipjack tuna. We were headed to our next buoy when we found floating pallets with birds overhead. We baited up and hooked a mahimahi. Tony landed a nice 28 pounder. Then we hooked a second mahimahi but lost it. We hooked another mahimahi and Bob reeled in a whooper. This fish weighed in at 32 pounds 11 ounces, beating our previous 2014 record by over four pounds. No bites on the way in but we did see some whales. It was a pleasure fishing with this fine crew. We hope to see you again. Aloha Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve
