It was plenty dark as we took off on this day of 15 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. At the buoy the porpoise were there and in control so we kept going outside to 27 miles out. On our way in we found 2 birds but they did not produce for us, but we did get a mahi in the blind. Back at the buoy we baited and started hooking nice size shibi and 1 mahi. It was some fun action on light line, and these folks did great landing these fish. It got a little rough on the way in but everyone did great, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

With light winds in the dark we set out going to my old favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited and took a few hits but only landed one nice shibi. Then we jigged and got some small aku and shibi before the poroise arrived and spoiled what action we did have. We set up and trolled to the ledge and baited there. We saw whales literally everywhere, jumping splashing they were going off today, I think it was the most I have seen on a day ever. We went in to the tip of Kaena point and took a bunch of hits before we landed a barracuda. Then on the Haleiwa side in 30 feet of water we hooked a 40 pound white ulua on bait and Dakota landed it. It put up a great fight but we got it. These folks were fun to have aboard good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was real dark as we set out on this day of 10 kph variable winds going to my old favorite buoy. Along the way we baited the ledge and hooked 2 mahi and got them both, and saw lots of whale action.Just before the buoy we had a striped marlin hit 2 lures and not find the hook on either of them, bummer.  At the buoy we baited and started hooking nice size shibi right away, Scot was hooking up 2 a pass every time for awhile there, it was hot action. And these folks did great landing fish after fish. On our way in we found a massive white bird pile but got no hits in it. Good going you folks were a pleasure to have aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the right time off we go on this day of 10kph winds going to my old favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and were getting some small shibi and aku at first then some bigger ones started biting. Erick got the biggest one a nice 20 pounder that gave him a good fight on light line. Then on our way in we had a striped marlin hit 3 different lures and finally hook up only to come off after only 30 seconds on the hook, bummer. Good going guys it was a good day. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was really dark as we set out on this day of 10 kph winds going to a west side buoy.Along the way we found a big net floating and Scot baited up a nice mahi there and Jim landed it.  The buoy was dead so we kept going outside where we found some birds and got a small shibi there. One more pile of birds and we can see the big aku boiling but cannot get them to bite, bummer. We had one more mystery strike that came off. We even baited the ledge but got ot hits. These guys were fun to have aboard, good going men . Aloha Capt Rusty

We set out in the dark on this day of 10 kph winds going to a west side buoy. Along our way we took a mahi hit and get one early in the day. Near a buoy we took a striper hit and land a ncie 43 pounder. Then near another buoy we took a double mahi and get them both. Then we went outside looking for the ahi, but did not find them. We did find 2 birds working and got 2 more mahi there. This was a super flat day with loads of whales on the Haleiwa side, they were everywhere. Good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  The Colello Family Ben, Deb and Ray caught 6 mahi and 36 shibi for a super action packed day of fishing today
At the perfect time off we go on this day of 20 kph trades going to a buoy far away. Along the way we took a mahi hit and landed one. At the buoy we baited and Scot was hooking mahi when ever we could get in the few birds that were there. Then we jigged and caught a few small aku and shibi, then we set up and headed for home. Before long I spoted a small bird pile and near them was a bunch of ropes and nets floating we took a triple and got all 3 shibi in the 27 pound range, we only had 3 out or it would have been a 5 banger. When we came back with bait it was 2 or three a pass for the next 2 hours. A big mahi showed up and  Scot fed it a small shibi and Ray landed it a big 37 pounder. When we jigged they were still hungery and we got doubles every time, these guys were great anglers they just reeled in fish after fish and kept on smiling and reeling away. Scot kept them busy by hooking them up as fast as he could. Great job men you were a pleasure to fish with. Aloha Capt Rusty

Then we set up and trolled and found a small floater and baited up more mahi there. One more blind mahi on the way in and lots whales all around today too, good going guys you did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was dark as we set out on this day of 20 kph trades going to my favorite buoy.Along the way Dave spotted a small piece of wood floating and we went over to it and hooked a mahi and Diane landed it. At the buoy we baited but got no hits s o we jigged and got no hits so we set up and torlled to another buoy. At this buoy the porpoise were there so no chance there. On in to the ledge where we had a few bites on bait but go no hookups. We did see more whales and porpoise than we have this season, they put on a great show today. Good going you folks were fun to have aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty
