Alex and Richard Oates caught 4 mahi 7 aku and 10 shibi for some fun
It was 5:30 when we got moving on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On our way we took a double mahi and landed 2 big ones and one small one. At the buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. We had an ono chop a shibi in half and then cut our aku off cleanly no hook left and it never came down from the rigger. When we baited finaly a mahi showed up and Scot hooked it up and we got it. Then we trolled to another buoy where we caught shibi and aku and ran an aku live. In the harbor Alex was game to eat a mahi eyeball, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Keith deClercq Brian deClercq, Claudia Johnson, Steven deClercq caught 10 mahi 3 shibi and 1 aku for a real fun day of fishing
At day break we set out on this day of 25 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. On the way we found 2 open schools and landed one in each one. At the buoy we took a triple small shibi and landed 2 and had a mahi hit come off. When Scot baited he hooked a real big shibi that Keith and Brian tag teamed for almost an hour only to have it come off right at the boat, it looked to be 90+. Scot had a few nibbles only so we trolled to another buoy and on the way caught a nice shibi. Arriving we took a double and baited up 2 more for some wild action. A couple more singles and on our way in we landed one more. In the harbor Claudia and Keith were the bold ones to eat mahi eyeballs, these folks did great today good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

5:15 and underway we are on this day of 25+ trades going to my favorite buoy. Once we arrived we took a mahi hit and got it. Then we came back with bait and Scot hooked a nice bully, I reeled it in and then hooked another big bull right behind the boat on 80, and landed it too. One more and out we go trolling, and get one more then back to the buoy for one more. On our way in we landed one and lost one more mahi. Mark did great on this rough day of high seas, even after all the beer he had last night, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Tom MacDougall, Kathy MacDougall, Lindsay MacDougall and Leah Donatele caught 2 mahi and 6 shibi for a fun day on a rough ocean
There was lots of light in the east as we pulled out on this day of 25+ trades going to my next favorite buoy. We took a mahi hit that came off near the buoy and took a double small shibi at the buoy. Second pass and we hooked a mahi and Tom landed it easily. When we came back with bait Scot could not get the 2 fish we saw to bite, so we jigged and caught a few small shibi and ran one live. Scot baited again and hooked a nice size shibi and Tom landed it too. These folks did great on this wild day of big waves and high winds. In the harbor Tom was the bold one to eat a shibi eyeball,I like it, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Some spinner dolphin came right by and put on a great show jumping and spinning. Then we went out a short ways and Scot hooked a mahi and Mick landed it. We found an open school but they did not cooperate. Back in the harbor we only had one brave soul to eat an eyeball and that was Samantha, I like it, good going you folks did great today. Jack Hagan, Bruce Holland and Trent Holland caught 5 mahi 3 shibi and 3 aku for a great day
Starting right on time on this rough day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Along the way we took a blind hit and we landed a nice bully. Arriving first at the buoy we took a triple 2 shibi and a big 28 pound mahi, and landed them all, and Scot baited up 2 more mahi. When we came back with bait Scot hooked one and we landed it, then nothing came in so we set up and trolled out and ended up at another buoy. Scot got some bites on bait and hooked a nice 18 pounder and Jack landed it. In the harbor some bribery was needed and $10 richer Jack ate a mahi eyeball, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

James Hazelton, Beth and Bob St.Jean caught 3 shibi and 15 aku for some fun today
It was the right time as we pulled out on this day of 20 kph trades going to my favorite buoy.On our way we saw whales jumping and spouting. Once there we jigged and caught some small aku and ran one live. When Scot baited he had a few hits but nothing found the hook, so we jigged and caught more aku and a few shibi. We baited a few more times but nobody came to eat. On our way in we had 2 mystery hits, that slamed the rigger and came off, bummer. Good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

The Houston Family Blake, Brett, Jessica and Brittany caught 1 mahi 3 shibi and 18 aku for a fun filled day of fishing
With just the right wee bit of light showing out we go on this day of 15 kph east winds going to my favorite buoy.Just down from the buoy in and open school Scot hooked a 27 pound mahi in the tail and Brett landed it the hard way. Back at the buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and ran one live. When Scot baited he hooked a nice big shibi and Brett made quick work of it and landed it easily, he fishes a lot and it showed. Then the aku boat came and was loading up the small aku, the kids had fun with all the small aku. These folks did great today. In the harbor only the captain was eating eyeballs today.
