Colin Price, Erin and Mitch Mellott caught 10 shibi and 4 aku for a great day of fishing today
|
There was a great sunrise on this morning of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught a few small aku and ran one live. When we baited Scot hooked some nice shibi right a way and we landed 5 of them. Then we jigged again and we hooked some more big shibi, great fun on light line. these guys all did great reeling in these fish. Back in the harbor only Colin was bold enough to eat a shibi eyeball, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the appointed hour off we go on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Arriving we took an ono hit and landed a nice 27 pound ono. We then jigged and hooked a big shibi and Brian landed a nice 38 pounder. Then a shark ate our live aku and we reeled it in and let it go. Lots more jigging and we landed one more good size shibi and lots of aku and smaller shibi. We then went to another buoy and lost a mahi there. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the appointed hour of 5:00 off we go on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. O our way we took a mahi hit in the blind and land a nice mahi. At the buoy we took a mahi hit and get it. When we came back with bait Scot hooked a nice shibi and a mahi right a way and we had a big marlin come in and look at our dead aku but did not try to eat it, we got both fish. Then it was steady action with a mahi or shibi or two every pass, these folks did great on all these fish on this super rough day. We jigged and ran an aku live for all the time at the buoy and that pesky marlin never showed up for us. Ed got the fish of the day with a 37 pound shibi. Good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty
