Vince Colabello, Greg Colabello, and Chris Hubbell caught 4 sharks 9 mahi and 10 shibi and some smaller ones
We got going at 4:30 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. We took a double mahi and got them both on our first pass at the buoy. Then we got a single mahi and while it was on a shark hooked up on the center and we pulled it in and tagged it and got our lure back. When we caught an aku and ran it live a shark promptly ate it and a live shibi for free. We put the next one out on a wire and a big hammerhead inhaled it, 6 minutes later and it was to the boat. In between sharks we got a few shibi on bait and one more mahi. Then sharks number 3 and 4 came along and we tagged them and let them go. Then on a bait pass we first hooked one mahi then 4 more for a wild action pass of mahi fishing, we got all of them. These guys did great on all these fish, it was some hot action. Back in the harbor they all ate fish eyeballs gladly, I like it. Aloha Capt Rusty

Dave Irish, Tim Parrish, and Scott Biss caught 4 mahi 5 shibi and some small aku
We got going at 4:30 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. We got one mahi bite on our first pass and got it. When we jigged we got no bites so we baited and the mahi came up in a big way, we had 4 on and got 1 out of the four. We got a few nice shibi trolling. We then set up and trolled on out side and found an aku school and got 2 small aku. Then we went back to the buoy and got a shibi on a clarke spoon. Then we baited and got 1 nice bully and then a nice wahine. We even got a few shibi on bait, and saw no sharks today. These are some serious fishermen and it showed, they did great today. In the harbor they were all up for an eyeball out of a shibi. Aloha Capt Rsty

Joe Sr. and Joe Jr. Govert caught 8 mahi 1 shark and a bunch of small aku and shibi
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. We took a mahi hit trolling on our first pass and Scot baited up one more for 2. Then we got one more mahi on our second pass. Then we jigged and got some small shibi and aku and ran 2 live. A shark came around and we were forced to put out an aku on a wire and hook it up, Joe Jr. got to reel it in . Then a few mahi came by and Scot hooked 3 up on bait and we got all three. The shibi bite was steady but they were sorta small. Back in the harbor both guys were up for eating shibi eyeballs, I like it. These guys did great on all these fish, good going guys. Joe Sr. and Joe Jr. Govert caught 4 mahi 1 big hammerhead and some small shibi
We got going at 4:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to a buoy far away. We got one mahi on our first pass. Then we went to baiting and eventually got 2 more mahi. It was slow so we went to a different buoy, and caught some small shibi there. Then a big hammerhead shark showed up and ate a few of our shibi, so we put out a bait on a wire and hooked it up. Joe Jr. got in the chair and did battle with this big monster, it was so big that the distance from eye to eye was over 2 and 1/2 feet about 200 pounds or so. Joe got it to the boat in about 20 minutes. On our way in we took a mahi hit in the blind and we got it. In the harbor both these guys were up for eating a mahi eyeball, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Mike and Jason Hinkle caught 9 mahi 1 ono a shark and a few small shibi and aku
We got going at 4:00 on this day of 15 kph trades going to a buoy far away. On our first pass we took a triple mahi and got all 3. Then we baited and got one mahi every few passes, it was not a hot bite. Then we hooked a big shark and Jason reeled it in, and we tagged it and let it go. Then we got 3 mahi on one pass and then it went dead so we took off. We found a open school and got one more mahi. Then we caught a few small bonita for bait and took a mahi hit but it came off. Right outside the harbor we hooked a big 28 pound ono and Mike reeled it in. These guys did great today on all these fish, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Scot, Capt Rusty, Bruce Wilkinson, and Mark Pearson caught 20 mahi and some small aku and shibi for a great day
We got going at 4:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to a buoy far away. We took a single mahi hit on our first pass and got it. We came back with bait and were getting 3 or 4 a pass, it was some wild action. The birds are a real problem here too, it's hard to get a bait back to the fish without the birds eating it. When the bite slowed down we went to my next favorite buoy and caught some small aku and shibi, for bait for our next trip. On the way in we caught 2 more mahi in the blind. These guys did a great job on all these fish today, they love to fish and it was very evident. It took a few weeks of strong winds to get the mahi ball rolling, but it is going now. Aloha Capt Rusty

Doug Leavitt, Greg Leavitt, and Brenden Sasser caught 16 mahi 5 shibi and 2 sharks for a great day
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. The aku boat was at the buoy when we got there, so we jigged and put out a live shibi on a wire after a nice size one got shark bit. It didn't take long for a shark to eat it and Greg reeled it in and we tagged it and let it go. We set up and trolled on out going to a far buoy. When we got there mahi were all around it, we baited up a few and then hooked another shark and the whole school followed us we got about 12 in one pass. It was some wild action for awhile there with 3 or 4 on at a time. On our way in we got one more shibi in the blind. In the harbor all these guys were game to eat eyeballs. They did great today on all these fish, they loved to fish and it showed, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Jillian, Jennifer, Nicholas, and Jerry Voelker, and Stan Humphries caught 4 shibi and 1 shark and some aku for a fun day
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We got beat to the buoy by a jetski and one other boat. When we jigged we got some aku and ran 2 live, the small shibi and aku were biting good, so we jigged around. When a mahi came around and nibbled on one of our aku we tryed to bait it but it swam away. Then a shark came up and we baited it up on a wire leader, Stan got to reel it in, and we tagged it and let it go. No hits on the way in. In the harbor all of these folks were up for eyeballs, I like it. They even held fish in their teeth for the picture, how cool is that. Great folks to fish with. Aloha Capt Rusty

Dusty and Ed O'Neill caught 2 mahi and 4 shibi and a few aku too
We got going at 5:35 on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We took a triple shibi on our first pass at the buoy, a shark ate all but the head of one, one came in whole, the last one Scot played tug of war with and won it only had a big bite mark on it. Second pass we got a small mahi. Then we put out 2 live baits, one on a wire, and never saw another shark. We got a few more nice shibi and some small aku, then we set up and went looking for bigger fish. We found an open school of mahi and got one nice one. On the way in we took a mystery hit on the ledge that came off. These guys did well considering how rough it was today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Sam Cobb, Jeff Davis, Brian Moore, and Mark Wagner caught 3 mahi 1 shark and some shibi and aku
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On our first pass we took a double mahi and got them both. Second pass and we got a shibi. Then we caught some small shibi, and a shark was there to eat them. So we put out a wire leader with a live shibi on it and a shark hooked up on it. Mark and Brian both reeled on it, when it came up we found out why it fought so hard, it was hooked in the tail. On our way in we caught a mahi in the blind. In the harbor only Brian and Mark were game to eat eyeballs. Aloha Capt Rusty
