Jack Jr Helveston, Jack Helveston, Brittany Helveston, and Shannon Gleason caught 3 marlin 1 shark and 12 shibi for a super fun day
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. We were only 5 miles out when we took a 4 banger marlins and 3 stayed on. We had a wild time with 3 screaming reels going at once, in 10 minutes or so we had all three in the boat, just as the sun peeked over the horizon. A great way to start a day. At the buoy we caught some small baits and ran 2 live, it did not take long before a shark ate one and we had it on. Jack Jr. did a great job reeling it in and we tagged it and let it go. Then we baited and Scot was hooking up some nice sized shibi on each pass. It is just before a full moon so they were hungry. These folks did great on all these fish. No hits on the way in, and only I ate an eyeball. Good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Juanita and Don Furtado caught 1 shibi and 1 shark and some small aku and shibi
We got going at 4:30 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. No hits trolling, so we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran them live. A shark promptly came in and ate one and Don reeled it in and we tagged it and let it go. When we baited Scot hooked up a nice shibi and a few small ones too. Then we set up and trolled to my favorite buoy, but it was not happening so we trolled outside. We found an open school of mahi but they did not cooperate with us. These folks did great on this sorta rough and rainy day, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

J. O. Garcia, Louis Canonico, Arnold Escobedo, Tom Escobedo, Frank Canonico, Nic Garcia caught 4 sharks 1 mahi and soms small aku and shibi
We got underway at 4:30 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. No hits trolling so we put out the light line and caught some aku and shibi and ran 2 live. Before long a shark came around and ate one, we tagged it and let it go. Then we went to my next favorite buoy, we took a five banger small shibi on our first pass and got 4 of them. We jigged and caught some small shibi. When we hooked an aku a mahi was all over it as we reeled it in, Scot baited it up and it drew a crowd, 2 sharks showed up and we hooked them both. We got them all. Before long we got one more shark to make 4. While we had the last shark on a porpoise came up and ate a live shibi, and hooked up, they are supposed to be smarter than that. Scot gave it slack line and it managed to get off the hook. No hits on the way in, and the fish got to keep their eyes today. Good going men . Aloha Capt Rusty

Mike and Tricia Mielke caught 3 mahi and an ono and a shark for a fun day
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. We hooked an ono on our first pass and got it. Second pass and we got a mahi, then we went to the light line and caught some small aku and shibi and ran them live. They both got chopped in half by pesky onos. We set up and went to my favorite buoy, there we put out a live aku and 2 mahi came in on it. Scot baited them both up and we got them. Then a shark showed up and we put out a wire and it ate it, Mike reeled it in and we tagged it and let it go. No hits on the way in. These folks did good today. No eyeball eaters. Aloha Capt Rusty

Quoreon Spears, Curtis Taylor, Kenneth Spears, Wayne Russell, Kevin Brown, David Feiler caught 4 shibi and some aku and a shark
We got going at 5:15 on this day of 10 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught some aku and shibi and before we could reel them in a shark ate 2 of them. We put out a wire leader but no sharks ate it. When we baited we hooked a shark on 80 pound test and Kenneth reeled it in and we let it go involuntarily at the boat. Then we baited and hooked a few nice big shibi and lost a few too. We had something big eat one of our baits and scream out 100 yards of line and then it broke the hook, bummer. No hits on the way in. These guys did good on these fish today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Bob Cherry, Robert Hundley, and Bill Cherry caught 1 mahi 1 ono and 10 shibi and some aku and a shark
We got going at 4:00 on this day of 10 kph trades going to a far to the south buoy. We were the 12th boat to the buoy and we only got one aku on bait there so we came back all the way to my old favorite buoy, where there was only one boat. We caught an aku and a shibi and ran them live on a wire cuse we saw a shark. It was not long before the shark ate our bait and it was on, Robert got to reel this 7 foot shark in, and while it was coming in Scot baited up a 15 pound shibi. Then a mahi showed up and Scot baited it up and we got it. An aku boat came and the bigger shibi came up and we got a bunch more tolling around the aku boat. On the way in we had an ono bite and Robert reeled it in. These guys did great today, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Steve Johnson, Bridger Jack Johnson, and Jim Jennings caught 2 mahi and some aku and shibi
We got going at 4:30 on this day of 10 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On the way we hooked up and caught a nice mahi. At the buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran 2 live ones. They were promptly chopped in half by a big barracuda, we had a few more fish chopped then we put out a suicide rig. It got hit and that bait got chopped and did not hookup, this was a smart and getting full fish. On our way in we got one more mahi on the ledge. In the harbor all these guys ate fish eyeballs gladly, I like it. These guys did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

The Clements Rick, Jennifer, Jenna, and West caught 4 mahi and some aku and shibi
We got going at 4:30 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We took a double mahi 2 miles from the buoy and got both of them, great way to start the day. Then we got one more at the buoy. The shibi and aku were biting good, but no big fish to eat our baits so we set up and trolled outside. We found an aku pile and got one shibi in it, then we went to my favorite buoy. We saw a nice mahi on our first pass so we came back and Scot baited up a nice big bully. No hits on the way in. These folks did great on these fish today, good going. The fish got to keep all of their eyeballs. Aloha Capt Rusty

Mike Walton, Eric Greafe, Scott Strongoski, Michael J. Moore caught 2 mahi and some small aku and shibi
We got underway at 4:30 on this day of 10 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. No hits trolling so we went to the light line and caught a bunch of small aku and shibi and ran 2 live. No bigger fish here so we set up and trolled outside, we found an open school of mahi and got one and lost one on bait. Then we found a few aku schools and got none. We found a bundle of 4 balls floating, and hoped to find fish with it but there were none. We took a blind strike mahi and Mike got a nice big bully. We went to my favorite buoy and got a few more small aku and shibi. Back in the harbor everyone except Scott gladly ate eyeballs. These guys did great today on all these fish. Good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Dennis l. Moore, and John A. Tvelia caught some small aku and shibi on a super flat day
We got going at 4:30 on this day of 10 kph variable winds going to my favorite buoy. We took a hit and a miss on our first pass and the bait did not bite for us on the light line, so we went to my old favorite buoy and the aku and shibi were biting there so we ran 2 live aku and caught a bunch of small ones. Then we went outside 21 miles and found only small aku. We found lots of marine mammals on our way in, that may be why the fish were shy at the buoy. We took a mahi hit just outside the harbor but it came off. These guys did great with the fish today. Aloha Capt rusty
