Right at 5 and off we go on this day of 15+ trades going to a west side buoy. At the buoy we baited and hooked 2 nice shibi and landed them both. Then we had a few more hits and one good hookup that gave Jay a real good fight before it broke the 80 pound test leader. Then we jigged and I could see waves of aku surfing all around us and we could not get a bite. So we baited some more and took a hit but it came off. no hits on our ride home. In the harbor only Scott and I were up for shibi eyeballs, this is Scott's second time eating eyeballs with us, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

As it was geting light out we went going to the ledge today with 10 kph winds. On our first pass down the ledge we took an ono hit on the corner and land a nice 20 pounder. Farther down we take a hit on the rigger and josh lands a 31 pound ono, our biggest of the year so far. Then it was a lot of whale watching and porpoise watching and up and down the ledge before a mahi hit the rigger and Chris landed a nice mahi. Back in the harbor only Matt and Chris were bold enough to eat ono eyeballs gladly, good going guys it was fun to have you all aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 6 on this day of 10 kph winds going to my next favorite buoy. Along the way we had a great whale show with one breaching only 100 yards of our port side and it did it 3 times in a row, wow. at the buoy we baited and had one nibble but no hookus so we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran one live. We then set up and trolled to another buoy. There we baited and a small mahi choked down a bait and we got it. These guys were fun to have aboard good going men. And in the harbor they all ate shibi eyeballs gladly, peer pressure is a marvelous thing, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

At 6 we set out going to my next favorite buoy on this day of 15 kph trades. At the bouy we jigged and caught some aku and shibi and ran one live. We kept jigging and caught a bunch more then ran 2 live baits way back and far from the buoy, but no bites. It was a great flat day by hawaiian standards, and these folks did great with what we caught today. We only saw a few whales in the distance today, season is slowing as they start to head back up north. Good going you guys were fun today. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the buoy we jigged and caught small aku and shibi we ran a shibi live.  When Scot baited nothing came up so more jigging and  a few more shibi and aku too. On our way in we had 2 mahi hits but they both came off right away bummer. These guys did great with what we caught today good going.  In the harbor only myself and Breena (Shawns Fiance ) ate shibi eyeballs, I like it. Aloha Capt Rusty

We set out with 15-20 kph north wind going to my next favorite buoy. Along the way we found 2 open schools and landed 2 nice big mahi in each one, Pamís fish went 30 pounds, good going.  Then we found  some aku and shibi and caught a few. At the buoy it looked dead so we kept going. We found some bird life but not with any fish under it.  The ride home was much nicer than it was getting there. We saw some whales here and there on the way in. These folks did great on this day of unorganized seas, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

We set out on time and headed for my next favorite buoy with no wind at all. At the buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. When we baited we got no hits at all so we jigged and caught some more shibi and ran two live.  On our way in we had a mystery strike in the deep that slammed and came off, and right out side the harbor we had an ono slam that cut the lure off istantly, bummer. These guys had fun and did great on the fish we got today. Aloha Capt Rusty

We came back and baited up 2 nice shibi, and jigged up a few small shibi. Then we set up and trolled to another buoy. Along the way we took 2 hits in the blind and landed a mahi. No action at other buoy but found open school and caught one more mahi. These folks did great today, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty
