We got going at 5:15 on this day of 25 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we trolled and took one hit but it missed the hook, we jigged and got no hits, we baited and got no bites,so we set up and trolled out. We took a slam that seemed like an ahi hit, but it came off. Then we had a mahi bite in the blind and Peter got it. On the way in we did the shark show. These folks did great on this rough day of high seas, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 4:17 on this day of 20+ kph trades going to my favorite buoy. On our way we took an ono hit and got a nice 27 pound ono. At the buoy we trolled a few passes, took no hits so we slowed down to reel in and the rigger took off with a big fish. Jeremy had it to the boat in about 10 minutes or less and it was an ahi. With 30 feet to go the handel comes off the reel, how special, he had to just spin the spool by hand as Scot handlined, it came up nice and easy at gaff. We had an ono cut off a lure at the buoy as we trolled by. Then the aku boat was at the buoy and they had the big shibi up and boiling, we jigged and caught some aku and small shibi. Eventually we got a double bigger shibi on and got them both. When Scot baited he got one nice shibi. These guys did great to day, good going guys. In the harbor only Garrett was fear factor material, eating an eye out of the big ahi. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 4:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. At the buoy we saw not much happening so we kept going outside. At 20 miles out we found 1 white bird and got 2 mahi there. Then we ended up at a different buoy where we jigged and caught some aku and shibi and ran an aku live. When we hooked a bigger shibi jigging a shark ate half of it on the way in. When Scot baited he got some bigger ones to bite and the shark ate one more then left us alone. We had a few nice bait passes where Scot got 2 or 3 on at a time, and Brian and Evan did great on these nice shibi. Back in the harbor both these guys gladly ate fish eyeballs, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:10 on this day of 20 kph going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we got no hits and it looked real dead so we trolled on out and took a mahi hit in the blind and got it. We ended up at a different buoy and caught a few aku and ran one live. A pair of mahi came in when Scot baited, and he got both on and we got them both. A big shark came up and ate our aku, it cut 600 pound test in seconds and was gone. Back in the harbor only Rich was bold enough to eat an eyeball, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 4:00 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On our second pass we got our ono, and made a few more passes but no more hits so we jigged. We could not catch a bait, and nothing came in when we baited, so we set up and trolled outside. At this time of year the buoys can slow down, hopefully signaling big fish are comming. We found some big bird piles but got no hits. We ended up at another buoy where we jigged and baited and got nothing. On the way in we did our shark show. In the harbor Jonathan and Jim gladly ate ono eyeballs and Devon was glad there was only two eyeballs to eat. Good going guys Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 4:00 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We where the 3rd boat to  the buoy, 2 jet skis and a boat got there first. We jigged and caught some small aku and ran 2 live. The small stuff was hard to get, and not a thing came up when Scot baited. So we set up and trolled out and about but found nothing. On our way in we gave the kids a shark show. In the harbor only Seth declined to eat an eyeball, the rest of the guys ate them gladly, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Then when Scot baited he hooked 3 mahi and we got them all. Then we got a shark on and Kirstin reeled it up and we let it go. On another bait pass Robby hooked his own 34 pound bully and got it. One more mahi and 1 shibi and we set up and trolled in. Just outside the harbor we took an ono hit and got a nice ono. These guys did great today, good going . Aloha Capt Rusty

Scot baited up 2 more mahi then we set up and trolled on down the line. We got a mahi in the blind on the way in. These guys did real good on all these fish today. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got underway at 4:00 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we took no hits trolling, so we jigged and had to work hard to get an aku to run live, when we got an aku out some mahi came around and Scot baited up 6 in one pass. Then it was one at a time and a few bigger shibi too. These guys did great getting 2 big bullys on 80 pound test with no leader. Then on the way in we got a few more in an open school. In the harbor all these guys were game to eat eyeballs, I like it, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 4:00 on this day of 10 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. When we got there at day break we had a few hits before we stuck a mahi and got it. Next pass we hooked an ono then Scot baited up an ono, so we got 2 nice ono, one of them was a 38 pound ono that is the new year to date biggest. Then we jigged and caught a few aku and shibi and ran an aku live. Before long a mahi was on our bait, and Scot baited 2 up. When we baited Scot had one pass where he hooked 4 big bullys and 3 more. It was fast action with lots of jumping mahi. In the harbor only Barry was bold enough to eat an eyeball today. These guys did great on all these big fish, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty
