It was dark as we set out on this sunny day of 20 kph sw winds going to a buoy far away and ended up windy and rainy when we got back to the harbor. At the buoy we baited and hooked a few smaller shibi at first, then it was all big ones for the rest of the day. There were lots of doubles most notable one an 85 pounder and a 70 pounder, it was wild action lots of screaming reels, and howling guys as fish after fish came to the boat. It was tuna fishing at its finest, and these guys did great, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was a windy rainy day with 30 kph trades blowing as we headed to my old favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited and hooked a fish in the eye that gave Daniel a super hard fight but we got it. We had one more big one hookup and Charlotte landed a nice 65 pounder. then we had 3 on one pass and got all three, it was wild action.  Scot then baited up 2 smaller shibi and 2 mahi too, for a great day. It was super rough and these folks did great hanging on out there, good going you guys did super. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the right time off we go with 25+ kph trades headed to my old favorite buoy. At the bouy we baited and took a double and landed one big shibi. Then it was one or two hits a pass and we held onto 4 more big shibi and an aku. It was rough and lots of big waves to fish in, but they were hot today, good fun on light line. Good going men you did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

In the dark off we go with 25+ kph trades blowing headed for my old favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited and scot hooked an nice shibi first bait in and Chris landed a nice 50 pounder. Then it was one or two hits a pass and some screaming reels once in a while as big ones peeled out lots of line on the first runs. Oscar landed the biggest one a 65 pounder that put up a great fight on 80. This is tuna action at it's finest for light tackel, and these folks did great at it. Just outside the harbor we took a mahi hit and ti came all the way to the boat and then came off the hook but I got lucky and gaffed it before it could swim away, luck is always good. In the harbor after I ate a shibi eyeball everyone else did too I like it, good going you folks were fun to have aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Scot, Steve Shiraishi, Dino Miranda and Capt Rusty caught 15 shibi 3 mahi 2 aku and 1 ulua today for a super fantastic day of fishing on the kuuloa kai
At the perfect time off we go with 20 kph trades blowing headed for a buoy far away. At the buoy we of course baited and started hooking mahi and mid size shibi right away. Then the bigger shibi started biting and it was steady for a long time, doubles no trouble, lots of screaming reels as we got them all on Tiagra 50LRS on 80. Dino and Steve got a real workout pumping all these fish to the boat, this was some of the best tuna action we have had in awhile. As they say wish you were here. We only lost one fish at the boat as the ring on the swivel broke, otherwise it was text book perfect. Then to top it off on our way in doing 10 knots we had an ulua that went 40 pounds grab a lure in 100 feet of water just outside Ke Ike, that put up a good fight. Good going men one heck of a great day of fishing. Aloha Capt Rusty

In the dark off we go on this day that started out with 20 kph trades going to a buoy far away. At the buoy we baited and the bite was on with one or two mahi or shibi every pass. Mark hooked the first big shibi and landed a nice 50 pounder. then later Scot hooked a bigger one that went 65 and I landed it, good fun on a tiagra 50LRS. It was some great action and almost nonstop all the time we were there. Good going men it was a great day of fishing for what will be for some people like me their tukeys. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was dark as we pulled out on this day of 25 kph trades going to a buoy far away. Along the way we caught a small mahi in the blind. At the buoy we baited and were hooking one or 2 fish each pass, it was great action on light line. Some mid size shibi were there today and biting. These guys were doing great landing fish after fish. The biggest mahi was just over 20 pounds, and put up a great fight. It was a real rough ride getting there but worth it for sure. Back in the harbor they all ate mahi eyeballs gladly, I like it good going men you did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Daryl Giles, Steven Giles, Shaine Harris and Lance Stanfill caught 18 mahi 3 shibi 2 ono and 1 aku for a super day of fishing today
Right on time at 5:45 off we go with 15 kph winds going to a buoy far away. At the buot we took an ono hit and landed a small ono. Then we came back with bait and hooked 2 big shibi and a few mahi, we got 1 of the shibi a nice 78 pounder that Lance fought to the boat amidst about 4 mahi that were on at the same time. It was wild action with 2 or 3 fish on at a time, these guys were kept busy with mahi every pass. One more shibi on bait and one jigging on lighht line that Daryl landed on 50. This was as good as it gets for mahi action. One more mahi on our way home trolling. These guys did great today, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Steve Zernia and Scot caught 5 mahi for a fun day today
Right on time and off we go with 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited and got no hits so we kept going up and out to 25 miles and found nothing. At 18 miles we found an open school and it did not bite for us. We finally found a school at 9 miles and had one slam the rigger and then we baited up 4 more nice mahi and Steve landed them all, it was wild action for awhile there. Steve did great, and was a real pleasure to have aboard, good going hope to see you again. Aloha Capt Rusty
