Chris came in on a cruise ship so we got going at 9:30 on this day of 10 kph south winds going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited and Scot had a few hits but no hookups, so we jigged and caught 3 small aku and ran one live. When we baited again no hits at all. On our way in we found a few bird piles and had a small mahi hit the rigger but it came right off. There were some more birds but no fish, Chris did real good with what we caught today. Aloha Capt Rusty

In the dark of 6 off we go on this day of 10 kph variable winds going to my next favorite buoy. Single humpback sighted 5 miles out, first of the season for us. At the buoy we baited and Scot hooked a shibi and a small mahi on the first pass, and we landed them both. A few more small shibi and then we got a big one on and Rich landed a nice 80 pounder, a great fight on 80. Then the porpoise came and we had to jig and we caught some small aku. When we baited again we hooked one more big shibi and Lonnie battled a 73 pounder to the boat in about 20 minutes. On our way in we had a mahi hit the rigger and Lonnie lands a nice mahi too. Back in the harbor everyone except Rick gladly ate a shibi eyeball, good going men, you were a pleasure to have aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty

Right on time and out we go on this day of 25 kph north winds that started off nice and ended up rough. At the buoy we baited and Scot hooked 2 mahi and we got them both. Next pass we had a double shibi and got them too. We had a few more singles before we hooked up 4 big mahi at once and managed to land them all somehow, it was wild action. Then we had a double small mahi and big 62 pound shibi they both came aboard, the shibi gave Brandon a real battle in the big seas we had by then. These guys did great on these fish in the seas we had today, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We had light winds of 15 kph going to my next favorite buoy today. Arriving we baited and Scot hooked a shibi and we landed one. We had a few more hits that came off and one that got cut off by a boat there were 10 boats at the buoy today. Then Scot hooked a small mahi and it came aboard. Then we jigged and caught one small shibi. Back in the harbor only Paul and I were eyeball eaters today, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

It started off nice on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we took a shibi hit on the first pass and landed a nice 25 pounder. When we came back with bait Scot hooked a mahi eventually and we landed it. Then it was one or two mahi or shibi each pass for lots of passes. One good size shibi got taxed by the tax man. Then Eric hooked a big 80 pound shibi on 80 and after a tough 25 minute fight landed it, he did great landing this one. We got a few more big ones from 40 on up. This was great action, almost nonstop all day long. Back in the harbor Eric was bolder than just eating a shibi eyeball he ate some shibi heart too yummy and also ate a bit of sashime too, good going you guys did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Still windy and rough no rain, with 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Along the way we had 6 mahi hits and landed 5 of them. At the buoy we took a double mahi and got them both. When we came back with bait it was wild at first 2 and 3 a pass, the action was fast and these folks did great landing all these fish, in the end it was all Karen and Ryan getting all the fish. The big shibi a nice 25 pounder gave Karen a good battle, and she did it all right. Good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Windy rainy rough yea that sums it up with 25+ trades going to my next favorite buoy. It took an extra long time to get to the buoy due to the wind and waves. Once there we took a triple mahi and landed 2 of them. We came back with bait and Scot was hooking 2 or three mahi a pass it was fast action on light line. The action just kept coming just like the big seas today, and these guys did great on all these fish. Then John gets a 26 pound shibi that gave him a serious fight. We had some kind of whale around us at the buoy it looked to be chasing fish around the buoy, it may have been a finback whale. This was the perfect example of rough water and fishing being good. Good going guys you did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Flat as a pancake it was with 10 kph variables going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited and Scot hooked a shibi and Aaron landed it. Lots more baiting and no bites, so we jig and got nothing so we set up and trolled away. We found some mahi and Scot got 2 on and we landed one of them. Then on our way in we took a double marlin and Becky got the chair and Aaron had to wait, both fish were jumping around sceaming line off the reels, wild action, Becky got her fish up and it came aboard. Then Aaron got to the chair and brought his fish to the boat, that was as good as it gets. You folks did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was a calm clear morning with 10 kph variable winds forcast going to my next favorite buoy. Along the way we saw some pilot whales. At the buoy we got no bites when we baited for a long time, eventually Scot hooked a nice shibi and we got it. The next hookup was on 40 and it gave Jake a great fight for awhile before it almost spooled us and then broke line, bummer. We had a few more misses on bait and we set up and trolled to another buoy. There we baited and Scot hooked a double and a single and we landed them all, fun action. Then on the way in we took a mahi hit and Scot baited up 2 more for 3 more mahi in the boat. These folks all did great today. In the harbor first Ernie then Jake both consumed mahi eyeballs gladly, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty
