We got underway at 4:30 on this day of 25-30 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On our way we took a 5 banger mahi and got them all. On our first pass at the buoy we took another 5 banger and got them all too. When we came back with bait it was multiples of 5 to 10 a pass, they were all over the place. It was mahi action as good as it gets. It was what we call controlled pandemonium, with fish all over the decks and flying into the boat, it was great. These guys all did great, good team work. We got 4 more trolling in. It was a real rough day, 4 days before a full moon, that always helps. A epic day good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Then the aku boat came and we hooked one big shibi on bait and got it, then the fish only boiled and jumped right behind the aku boat. We jigged and caught some small aku, and one mahi. Then the aku boat left and we baited and started hooking big shibi on each pass. We got 5 more big shibi and a mahi, the biggest one a 54 pounder. These guys all did great on all these fish today. Back in the harbor everyone was up for eating shibi eyeballs gladly. Good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We baited and got a bunch of smaller shibi, then a 25 foot whaleshark came around real close. We got underway at 4:30 on this day of 10 kph sw winds going to a buoy far away. On our way we hooked a nice mahi only to have it come off right behind the boat, bummer. At the buoy we took no hits so we went to baiting right away. Scot hooked a big shibi and Kelly reeled it up in 15 minutes on 80, it was a 57 pounder. It was a one fish a pass kind of day, but the action was steady. There ended up being 8 boats at the buoy, a bit crowded, but we managed to keep hooking up a few nice fish. These folks did great, they love to fish and it shows. Good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Keegan and Rick Lynch caught 1 big mahi and 8 shibi and 5 aku for a fun filled day
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 10 kph sw winds going to a buoy far away. We hooked a 30 pound bully just after the sun came up and Keegan did a great job reeling it in. At the buoy we hooked some aku trolling, then we baited and the big shibi were biting. Scot was getting one or 2 on a pass. The action was steady with Rick getting a shibi that was 54 pounds on one pass. There was only 2 other boats at the buoy so the fish had less to choose from so we hooked up alot. Back in the harbor both these guys gladly ate fish eyeballs . They did great today on all these fish, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty
