We left the harbor at daybreak in 15-25 kph trades.  We headed towards a buoy and started catching small yellowfin and aku.  We threw a half dozen of the smallest yellowfin back. It was steady action all morning.   While we were jigging, we had live bait out too.  We had a hit on our center outrigger.  It grabbed the bait, jumped, was on hook for 30 seconds before it cut the line and came off.  Captain Steve is pretty sure it was a mako shark.  We jigged some more, but the porpoise showed up and shut down all bites.  We spotted some birds on the way in, but they broke up shortly after we reached them.  No other action on the way back to the harbor, but still a successful half day charter.  Our folk have tuna to ring in the new year!  It was a pleasure fishing with you.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, and Captain Steve

We left the harbor right at dawn in super light winds.  We headed to a buoy with no bites on the way.  We ran two live baits at the buoy and tried jigging at the same time.  We were catching small yellowfin and skipjack tuna, and had a few double hookups.  We threw some of the small yellowfin back and kept 14.  We also caught 5 aku.  We headed out looking for something bigger.  About this time, Hunter spotted a bag of banana chips in someone's lunch.  Now bananas are bad luck, no matter the form.  We asked that they get rid of them, and they proceeded to eat them.  Guess that worked, cause 5 minutes later our outrigger slammed down, followed by our center rig.  We had two striped marlins online!  We could see the edge of the storm approaching.  We headed inward as Dimitri reeled in the first striped marlin.  Jerry jumped in the chair and landed the second striped marlin.  No bites on the way in, but a great days catch, and a real fun day.  We enjoyed fishing with you and look forward to seeing you again.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We left the harbor in the dark, in light winds and choppy seas.  On our way to our first buoy, we spotted some birds, headed that way, and took a triple mahimahi strike, and landed two.  Nothing else would bite, so we continued to the buoy.  We caught a small aku on the way. We trolled by the buoy, but nobody home, so we headed to another buoy.  We found another open school on the way to the next buoy, but couldn't get them to bite.  We ran bait at the buoy, but no bites, so we tried jigging and caught 4 yellowfin and 3 aku.  No bites on the way in, but our folks will be eating well tonight.  It was great fishing with you again, and look forward to your next trip.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We left the harbor right on time in 5-15 kph trades.  We headed to a buoy and caught two kawakawa on the way.  We ran bait at the buoy and hooked a couple mahimahi.   We landed both, ran some more bait, and caught a 15 pound yellowfin.  We kept baiting and catching a mix of mahimahi and tuna.  The bites slowed so we started to jig and caught a nice size aku right away, followed by a 15 pound yellowfin.  The bites were pretty steady all morning, and shut down about the time to head in.  No bites on the way home, but a great day of fun and a nice catch.  Hope to see you again.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We left the harbor right at daybreak in 10-20 kph trades.  We headed to a  buoy and caught an ono on our first pass.  Then we caught a small mahimahi.  We caught a 15 pound yellowfin on our next pass, and lost a couple other bites.  We baited up and caught another small mahimahi.  Then we hooked and caught a 10 pound mahimahi and another 15 pound yellowfin.  We kept getting bites, but only caught every other one.  We decided to jig and caught a bunch of 3-7 pound yellowfin, but threw the small ones back.  We caught a few more 15 pound yellowfin and another 10 pound mahimahi.  It was time to head in so we set out trolling lines, but no bites on the way to the harbor.  Great fishing everyone!  We enjoyed fishing with you and hope to see you again.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We left the harbor right at 6 am in 5-15 kph trades. We headed to a buoy with no strikes on the way.  We had a couple bites at the buoy and landed a 10 pound ono.  The other took our skirts and damaged the lure, and got away.  We jigged up and landed four small yellowfin.  We had a couple bites on live baits, but couldn't get them to stick.  We headed to another buoy, ran bait, but no bites.  We headed towards a third buoy and caught another yellowfin.  We really wanted a mahimahi, so we hit the ledge on the way in, but no luck.  Still a good catch and a real fun day.  It was a pleasure fishing with you and hope to see you again.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve.

We left the harbor right on time in 15-20 kph trades.  We headed to a buoy with no strikes on the way.  We did spot our first humpback whale of the season.  We trolled by the buoy and hooked a mahimahi.  Daniel reeled in a nice 18 pounder.  We came back with bait and started hooking yellowfin tuna.  It was steady tuna action.  We lost 7 or 8, but landed a total of 11.  No bites on the way home, but still a good days' catch.  Today's charter was a surprise birthday gift for Daniel from his super cool wife, Abbey.  Happy Birthday!  It was a pleasure fishing with you both and hope to see you again.  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We left the harbor at daybreak in 5-10 kph trades. We headed to yesterdays' buoy, trolled by and had several hits, but only one mahimahi stuck.  We landed a 14 pounder.  We ran bait and took a double mahimahi strike and landed them both.  We continued baiting and had a steady flow of mahimahi and a couple 15 pound yellowfin.  The bites slowed so we tried jigging.  We caught three skipjack and three small yellowfin tuna.  Then we spotted a fin back whale and the bites shut down, and it was time to head in.  We had a strike on the way to the harbor but it didn't stick.  Still a great days' catch.  Nice fishing everyone!  Aloha, Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve

We left the harbor right at daybreak, headed to a buoy, but nothing there.  We ran bait at the second buoy and caught an 8 pound ono.  No other action there, so we hit a third buoy.  When we got near the buoy, we hooked and landed a mahimahi.  We came back with bait and landed three more mahimahi.  We tried jigging and caught a dozen yellowfin and a half dozen aku.  We threw four small yellowfin back.  The bites shut down and it was time to head in.  No strikes on the way to the harbor, but our group will be eating the dinner they were craving.  Raffy is our webmaster's brother and has fished with us before.  We look forward to your next Oahu trip.  Great fishing men!  Aloha Scot, Hunter, & Captain Steve.
