Matt Meury and Chris Shen caught 9 mahi 6 shibi for a super day of fishing on this rough day
|
The wind just keeps on blowing, at 25+ today as we go to my old favorite buoy. Arriving we jigged and caught some small shibi and ran one live and loaded the tubes. When Scot baited a few mahi came in and he got 3 on and we landed them, the big bully Chris landed went 36 pounds a great fight on 80 on a tiagra 50. Then it was another good bite as Scot hooked up one or two a pass, mahi at first then shibi later, this was great action and these guys did great today. These guys were solid on this rugged day. In the harbor only Matt was bold enough to eat a shibi eyeball gladly, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Dino Miranda, Scot, Mark Pearson caught 7 mahi and 10 shibi for a action packed day
|
It was another rough day of 25+ trades going to my old favorite buoy. At the buoy we took a triple and got 1 mahi and 1 shibi. Then we jigged and caught a few small shibi and ran one live and loaded the tubes. When Scot baited he got 3 mahi on the first pass. Which led to a steady stream of solid hookups on light line a few mahi shibi combos. We jigged in the end and caught a few small shibi and let them go. It was great action on this rough day, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

At the appointed hour out we go on this rough day of 30 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. There we took a triple and landed an ono and a shibi. When we came back with bait Scot hooked mahi and shibi every pass, the action was hot. There were some doubles and a triple too. These guys did great on these fish as it was smokin out there today. On our way in we kooked another ono and got it right outside the harbor, also in the harbor only I was bold enought to eat a shibi eyeball. Good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was another rough day of 25 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. Arriving we jigged and caught a few small shibi and ran one live, and then baited. Scot hooked some nice shibi, the first one was hooked in the side and gave Mike the fight like a 40 pounder. A few more shibi and then a couple of mahi came around and Scot baited them up and we landed them. A bit more jigging and we got a small aku. These folks were solid on this rugged day of wind and waves, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Robert Herrera and Rosangela Ferreira caught 3 mahi 7 shibi and 1 aku for a fun day of rock and roll fishing
|
This was a windy rainy day of 30 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited and took a double mahi shibi and got them both. Scot hooked a few more shibi and Robert landed them all. When we jigged a mahi followed a live shibi and ate a bait and was on but it came off, bummer. We caught a few more small shibi and one aku, before heading in. On our way 2 more mahi hit in the blind and Robert landed them both. These folks did great in the rainy rough water we had today, Robert has a 21' center console in Cape Cod. The 38 med did great in the rough stuff today, I only had to put my grundens on when it rained, that's how dry it is on the spacious bridge. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was the nicest morning on this day of 15 kph trades going to my favorite buoy. Arriving we jigged and caught some small shibi and 1 aku and ran a shibi live. Then while still jigging Jim hooked a 22 pound striped marlin and landed it on 50 pound test no leader, a great fight. At this point Scot baited and had a few misses before he got a nice shibi on and Sheila landed a nice 22 pounder. Alot more baiting and Scot hooked another nice shibi and Tom reeled it in. No hits on our way in, and I was the only one to eat an eyeball today. Good going you folks did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

|
We got under way with surf over 20 feet on the north shore on this day of 15 kph winds going to my next favorite buoy. There we jigged and caught some small shibi and ran one live. When Scot baited he had 2 nice shibi on but one broke off at the boat. Lots of passes later we hooked a nice mahi and it comes aboard. We then set up and trolled to another buoy, there we hooked one shibi and had a few misses, and landed one more nice shibi. A bit of jigging and a small aku and a shibi come aboard. These guys were troppers, they did great on these fish, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty
