Patrick Mireles, Nigel Holcomb, Ernest Blackwell, Calvin Dooley, Jason Cantu and Micah Fields caught 1 shibi and 1 aku for a bit of fun today.
At first light off we go with variable winds of 10 kph going to a west side buoy. At the buoy we baited and had a few hits before one finaly stuck and we landed a shibi. We had a few more hits but they did not stick so then we jigged and could not get a bite. On our way in we took a double mahi but they both came off. We did see plenty of whales along the ledge. then just outside the harbor we landed a small aku near some whales. In the harbor only Micah and Ernest were bold enough to eat shibi eyeballs gladly, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

No hits on the way in and in the harbor I was the only one to eat eyeballs oh well, good going guys you did good today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Kim Nelson Chuck Endle, Buck Ender and Brad Danks caught 8 mahi for a great day of fishing today
In the windy dark off we go with 20+ kph trtades blowing headed to my favorite buoy. At the bouy we baited and took a double mahi and landed them both. Then we had 2 more singles and got them both too, one was only hooked in the dorsal fin and somehow Scot got it the first shot, a great gaff job. Then we went to another buoy and baited up 3 more mahi there, it was great action. Then on our way in we took a mahi hit on one of my tuna killer lures and got it a 29 pound bully, to cap off a great day. Then in the harbor everyone except Buck ate a mahi eyeball gladly, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Daz and Jake O'Donnell caught 1 mahi and 5 aku and 3 shibi for some small kine action today
In the dark and off we go with light south wids of 10 kph blowing headed to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited but only got some scratches on a bait looked like a barracuda bite. Then we jigged and caught some aku and shibi and ran an aku live. Eventually a marlin came in and made some passes on our aku and tryed to eat it, Scot let him have it but it did not swallow it, and we did not see it again, bummer. Then a mahi came in and ate a bait and Jake landed a nice mahi. We ran live baits around for a while more then set up and trolled. We had a mystery strike near a small net but never saw what it was and it just slammed the rigger and was gone. Daz next time be sure to not bring any bananas aboard we found one in your bag at the end of the day! Good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Here she is hanging in the sling on the travellift as we get a ride back to the water after a 6 day dry dock
It took 6 days to do what we needed to do which included putting a new transmission in new cutlass bearing and painting the bottom and polishing the hull. She is ready to go for the next year of service. Scot worked hard getting the old trans out and putting the new one in, now it works great. Cleaned props and new zincs and we are cutting the water nicley now. On the ride home we took a double shibi and landed a nice 25 pounder, dinner for the crew. she is ready to rock. Aloha Capt Rusty

Tony Landl and Christian Burgstaller caught 4 shibi for a great day of fishing today
It was a clear calm mornig that turned into a windy south blow as we headed to where my next favorite buoy used to be. But it came back to where it broke loose from 5 days earlier. At the buoy we baited and hooked a double and landed them both a 70 and 80 pounders. Then we had a bunch more hits but only landed 2 more 25 pounders. These guys did great today on these fish. We also saw plenty of whale action on our way in . Back in the harbor they both ate shibi eyeballs gladly and Tony even ate 2. Good going you guys were fun to have aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty
